Often, when we review a Pure radio, style is one of the first things we notice. The Evoke H3 has a very similar appeal to many of the other items in the Evoke series. It looks a bit like the slimmer version of the C-D4, with its authentic wood finish and bold white faceplate.
These failures are rare and can be caused by electrical spikes or some other harsh interruption of the radio's normal process, and if it happens the radio is programmed to default to it's 'USB loader' screen where it can await recovery.
If you are talking about use in the UK, then your Pure Evoke will be fine for many years. FM switch-over to DAB is not even going to be until (at least) December 2015 and then I imagine it will be many more years after that until DAB+ is launched. (Sadly) Next up is material. Read through the product description for Pure Evoke H3 DAB Radio to get an understanding of the materials the product is made from. Some materials will obviously be known for delivering better quality item than others. You might also have decided that you’ll only accept a product made from a particular material. The wooden casing allows for a much deeper quality of sound, although we missed the tactile tuning knobs present on other Evoke models.
DAB digital radio brings you a diverse range of great content in highly-detailed, digital-quality sound much of which is only available on digital radio. Digital radios automatically find all your available stations and let you select them by name, and there’s also FM for any station that have not yet gone digital. ccb talks about a "wi-fi upgrade" and "Pure Evoke Flow logo", but describes their radio only as a "Pure Evoke", not Evoke-3. Is it actually an Evoke Flow? There's already a thread on problems with Flows on firmware v1.7 http://community.whathifi.com/forums/t/352359.aspx
It's what we call a 'USB loader' screen and it's the same message you'll see if you're attempting to update the radio manually (maybe to a later version of software), or if the radio has suffered a software problem it can't get itself out of and requires recovery.
