Buzz! Buzzers - PlayStation 2, PS2 official peripheral". Uk.playstation.com. 2009-07-21 . Retrieved 2012-03-27. On certain PS2 Games that are dance pad compatible allows the player to follow alongside on the game actions as the player must perform, they are usually found on games such as, Dance Dance Revolution games. Some PS1 games have glitches when played on a PS2. Also, the later model PS2 Slim’s listed above replaced some of the PS1-compatible hardware with software emulation and should be avoided for PS1 use. Here’s a list of games with compatibility issues : http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_games_incompatible_with_PlayStation_2 Wireless Buzz! Buzzers - PlayStation 2, PS2 official peripheral". Uk.playstation.com. 2009-07-21 . Retrieved 2012-03-27. In my testing, there isn’t a “best” model PS2 to use, as all seem to output the same quality video and audio. There’s talk that some models are more reliable than others, but overall there’s only a few models to outright avoid, all “slim” models:

There are a few ways to use RGsB and there’s a chance you already have equipment that supports it!: Only games that are emulated in it display in 240p/288p, menus and other features display in 480i/576i/480p. Here are the solutions I have tried (when technically feasible) on a TCL 4K 65" TV, a Samsung 40" 1080p TV and a Samsung CRG9 monitor. The xbox and xbox360 work perfectly through it and on the tv! I have even tried to plug in the component cable directly into the tv but still no video! HD modes (480p and 540p) are switched constantly to 480i or 576i whenever something non essential is on screen (menus, movies, etc.). HD modes need to be enabled every time the game is started at the in-game option menu as the setting is not stored in the game save although the screen ratio option is saved.

At first I thought the component cable may be faulty but it dose let me choose the 480p option on outrun coast to coast also my tv recognises the component cable.

Once again, this isn’t recommended unless you absolutely need it…but here’s more information: http://www.dansprojects.com/ps2sync.html The game sets to widescreen automatically when the 16:9 ratio setting in the PS2 internal menu is set.

Fake widescreen: The widescreen mode only affects the scaling of the menu and HUD elements, the in-game field of view stays the same (meaning the image gets stretched). Official Sony memory cards are only available at a size of 8MiB. Later, Sony partnered with a third-party accessories company Katana to make Memory Cards that came in 16 MiB and 32 MiB. These Memory Cards were officially licensed products, as they have the PlayStation 2 logo and word-mark along with them saying MagicGate on them. On the ps2's menu the component cable makes it look clearer than it dose on the av cable but for some reason on some games the component cable makes lettering look worse. Its not always lettering either sometimes the actual game looks worse with this component cable. When I played my ps2 with the av cable on the new tv it looked ok but when I changed to the component cable after changing the settings in the ps2 to Y Cb / Pb Cr / Pr I thought the picture was worse. Especially on letting on the screen. Some letting is really jagged with the component cable but with the av cable the lettering seemed sharp and more rounded. There are two different models of the DVD remote control that were released, which had minor differences. The first one to be released is the SCPH-10150 (some are labeled as SCPH-10170, 10171 or 97042 [8]). The second, SCPH-10420U/97076, [9] is visually and functionally identical apart from the addition of eject and reset/power buttons. The eject button only works on SCPH-100xx to SCPH-500xx PS2 models, as the slimline PS2 models had no motorized disc tray to eject. If a game doesn't feature a 480p mode itself, this and other progressive video modes can often be forced by using the commercial software Xploder HDTV player or the free Homebrew software GS Mode Selector (GSM). The use of these can give mixed results due to certain performance-enhancing methods used by developers. [2] The RFU Adapter (SCPH-1122) is an RF Modulator and cable that carries mono audio and video at 576i/50Hz (PAL) or 480i/60Hz (NTSC) via an RF signal and connects using a TV aerial plug. [10] It is similar to the RFU adapter cable available for the PlayStation. TV Type (Standard Scan/Progressive Scan) is determined only with the Guncon2. If the Guncon2 controllers are connected to both USB connectors, the TV type will be determined by Player 1. If Player 1 is using a Guncon and Player 2 is using a Guncon2, the TV type will be determined by Player 2. Note that the Guncon2 only works on SDTV and EDTV, but can still enable 480p on HDTVs Connect the other end of the video cable to your TV. Make note of the input that you are connecting to, as this will allow you to find the correct input when you turn on your TV. Match the colors of the plugs with the colors on the inputs. Some 480p capable RGB monitors can accept a RGsB signal, simply by toggling the external sync button off when RGsB is enabled. Many (if not all) Sony monitors that support 480p have this option. The D-Terminal cable is identical to the component cable other than its connector. It was sold only in Japan and uses the Japanese D-Terminal standard. The DVD Remote Control is an infrared remote control for the PlayStation 2 designed to allow easier control of DVD movies. The first remote came bundled with an infrared receiver dongle (SCPH-10160) which attached to one of the PS2's controller ports; this dongle is not needed on later PS2 models (beginning from SCPH-500xx) and slimline PS2 models (SCPH-700xx to SCPH-900xx) as they featured an integrated IR port.As I was tired of tinkering with PCSX2, getting random bugs here and there, and changing settings from game to game, to relive my best memories, I decided to get a real PS2. There is no in-game option to toggle widescreen. The screen ratio is set according to the setting in the PS2 internal Screen Size menu. LevelHike PS2 to HDMI converter and upscaler: slightly better, as it upscales to 720p (but without deinterlacing the original picture - it's essentially a 720p video feed of a 480i source). Blurry, still terrible, and a bit dark on top of it. GBS-Control– The GBSc can accept all the PS2’s resolutions over the component video input and also supports motion adaptive deinterlacing. It’s a DIY solution, but excellent for PS2 users on a budget. The Vertical Stand is attached to the PlayStation 2 console to allow it to stand vertically. [19] Three different versions are available: SCPH-10040 for original (large) consoles, SCPH-70110 for slimline SCPH-700xx consoles and SCPH-90110 for slimline SCPH-900xx consoles.
