Pectin: A soluble fiber, pectin undergoes rapid fermentation in the colon. Apart from its prebiotic properties, pectin also soothes the gut lining. Proximal colon: FOS remains intact until the colon due to its resistance against digestion in the small intestine. Beneficial bacteria, such as Bifidobacterium spp. and Lactobacillus spp., ferment FOS, leading to their proliferation. Pro-Kolin Advanced contains the same high quality ingredients as the original Pro-Kolin, but also contains a few extra ingredients to further support the gastrointestinal tract.
