Bubble Gum is a more fun side of Toy 2, still possessing clean, sophisticated musks but with a sweetened hit of bubble gum sweetness. The Moschino Toy 2 Bubble Gum fragrance launched earlier this year and I’m here to talk you through this unusual scent and why you may need it on your fragrance shelfie immediately. It is described as a Floral Fruity fragrance and the nose behind it is the incredible Olivier Pescheux. Top notes are Candied Fruits, Bitter Orange and Lemon; middle notes are Bubble Gum, Bulgarian Rose, Blueberry, Peach, Cinnamon, Ginger and Peach Blossom; base notes are Ambroxan, Musk and Cedar. Produced by Moschino, Toy 2 Bubble Gum is a remarkable fragrance that is guaranteed to win you over. It was unveiled to the world in 2021. Olivier Pescheux is the parfumeur behind this memorable classic. This persisting parfum leaves a fragranced cloud in its wake due to its high amount of scented oils. Most eau de parfums have between 15-20%. Fruity-florals, such as this one, started flooding the market in the 1990s. Fresh, airy with succulent fruity nuances, they absolutely epitomise the modern-day vibe. Juicy Fruity-NotesNow, regarding the scent. First of all: If you are like me, and you have trouble with sweet scents, you should keep away from this. This is sweet to the extreme. Sweet to La Vie Est Belle levels, even if it's more airy. In just a few words, this has parts of Toy 2 (the juicy fruity opening,) parts of Toy Boy (the spicy rose accords,) and a huge influence of La Vie Est Belle and Mon Guerlain, with all that's sweet thrown in the mixture. Now, you must be asking: What about the bubble gum? There's none. At least, I have never had a piece of bubble gum like this one.

It was a super interesting scent but yes, this is the only one I can think of that has any similarities for me as I do not usually opt for these sweeter, gourmand perfumes. Think 90’s pop culture and kids TV – that means lots of bubble gum popping! The ditsy playfulness of this fragrance comes from its star bubble gum note, which without a doubt will evoke nostalgic memories in any person who grew up in the 90’s era. With time, all the calories are burnt out, and the perfume becomes woodier. The transition is slow and seamless, but in the very last hour of life (I find the longevity decent but to be honest, I find it fortunate that it doesn't last forever,) there is this almost masculine woody note, reminiscent of woody-mineral-smelling molecules such as ambroxan. It's a nice cooling end for this candy binging experience. And I know that a lot of you, readers, are into super sweet stuff, so I don't want to deter you from smelling and eventually buying this pink bear. It's just not for me, which doesn't stop me from saying that Moschino still deserves applause for its older Toys.

I can't, and I have to be honest: In fact, if I really, really make an effort and think hard about bubble gum, I can imagine and almost smell it for a split second, that's all. Trust me, I know many fragrances that smell like bubble gum, I even made one. This is very far from that. It wouldn’t be a Toy fragrance without the signature teddy bottle. The shape of the Toy 2 and Toy Boy has been coloured pink, with a lacquered pink bear head and frosted pale pink glass to suit its name. Ursuletul roz e teroare! When I read the news that there was a new Moschino fragrance coming out to market called Toy 2 Bubble Gum, I couldn't contain my excitement. I think that Moschino has been an exceptional brand in terms of fashion and fragrances in the past, but the fragrances have somehow been flops for a number of years, until they came up with the Toy series, especially Toy 2 and Toy Boy. These two are among the best things the mainstream perfume market has seen lately. Moschino Toy 2 Bubble Gum, with its magic word game and magic color, immediately captured my imagination. In my mind I envisioned it to be campy, pop, extravagant, and yes, literally smelling like bubble gum. It made sense with the whole universe of creative director Jeremy Scott. So, since the perfume shops here in Portugal still don't have the fragrance, I asked the PR company if they could send me one, which they did. When I received it, it was totally not what I expected. I thought it would be too ‘young’ for me but I am totally enjoying wearing this in the day and would actually wear this in the evening too.
