About this deal

If your tool brand of choice is high-end, such as Makita, you’ll know it can be very expensive to buy new tools. It’s even worse if those tools are niche, and won’t get as much use as other tools in your collection. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy.

With a selection of gardening, cleaning, and even crafting tools, they offer daily-use tools other brands don’t cater for. This means that a Badaptor opens up a whole new world of tools you would never have thought about using. To make the most of these I thought I'd get the Badapter to let my use the bigger Makita batteries on the Ryobi tools. A Badaptor allows you to use your 18V Makita batteries with the entire range of over 200 Ryobi 18V tools. Here are some of the benefits of buying a Badaptor over a new battery system. Saving you money There are very few battery platforms that are truly universal, with each tool manufacturer using their own unique battery ports and connections. That’s where a Badaptor comes in.The Makita to Ryobi Badaptor allows you to convert your existing 18V Makita batteries for use with Ryobi 18V power tools, allowing you to use the Ryobi power tool range without having to buy a whole new battery system.

Compared to other established brands on the market, Ryobi’s range of 18V tools is larger and covers more than just power tools. So if you’re looking to use your 18V Makita batteries with Ryobi One+ tools, grab yourself a Badaptor at badaptor.com today. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Not a lot to say about performance. It enables the connection between one make of tool to another make of battery. It works.....simple. The DeWalt to Makita Badaptor allows you to convert your existing 18-20V DeWalt batteries for use with Makita 18V power tools, allowing you to use the Makita power tool range without having to buy a whole new battery system. Along with the cost-saving benefits, Badaptors enable you to get more from your batteries that may otherwise never see the light of day. We believe it’s better to use one battery consistently than buy three or four that may barely see any use throughout their lifespan.

The photos I've attached show the battery fitted, along with just the Badaptor itself. With it fitted but no battery it allows the nail gun to stand level. With a battery fitted the nail gun stands at an incline. As we said earlier, if you’re looking to buy a tool that you may only use once or twice a year, it might not be worth paying the extra money for the Makita option. In many cases, a bare Makita tool can cost almost twice as much as the Ryobi equivalent and a Badaptor. The Badaptor not only negates the cost of a new battery but also the charging station required to charge the battery.

Reviews

I mostly use Makita now after a bit of a false start on Ryobi for some garden tools. I also have the Ryobi hand vac and the glue gun which is a bit of a unique Ryobi item. Whether you’re a tradesman, DIY fanatic, or you just have different branded tools in your garage; the Badaptor is something that will make your life easier, and save you money. In some cases, buying a Badaptor can be less than a third of the price of buying a new battery and charging station. Next is removal is a pain. It seems that the idea is you get one per tool and leave it on. This may work for some but I want to swap between the Makita and Ryobi batteries, and also move the adapter between tools as I use them infrequently. The bit you squeeze to remove is just a recessed hook and needs a good bit of pressure to bend it out the way. It's not a spring loaded button like other adapters, and I notice newer products by badapter. For less than a quarter of the cost of one proprietary battery and charger I can now use my numerous Makita batteries with my cordless nailer!! Power tool battery adapters are a useful and important accessory for those who own battery-operated power tools.
