About this deal

However, the DA-9 has a full balanced input option, thus it also has a completely balanced internal circuit. The power output of both units is similar though, with the DA-9 putting out 10W more at 90W into 4Ω.

In the menu, there are options for inputs, outputs, PCM filters, Pre mode, DPLL, BT clear, Dimmer, Brightness, and Reset. It’s interesting to see that the D30 has an option that allows the user to control the active outputs, so either the DAC output will be routed to the headphone amplifier section in front or to the RCA outputs at the rear, but not both. Being on the more relaxed side of things, the D30 generally leans towards being gentle with most recordings. However, when it comes to larger crescendos, the D30’s sounds a bit too nimble to ultimately present the passage with the expected physicality. Headphone Amplifier section Layering within the soundstage isn’t the A30’s strong suit, so some images will not go deep into the soundstage. While there is some layering within the soundstage, the images don’t venture too deep into the soundstage creating a more compressed imaging presentation. DAC Input Room: the left one will be with it's edge against the wall and 35 cm away from the corner. right speaker will only be 35 cm away from the wall with 2 screens in between. While the bass is generally extended, there is an evident midbass hump that adds more weight to each bass note. This also allows drum hits to have more body and texture, while still generally maintaining control over the bass common to most class D amplifiers.Treble instruments on the other hand have a more splashy quality on the L30, allowing cymbal hits to permeate throughout the soundscape. However, the crystalline quality of cymbal hits and the edginess of wind instruments are comparatively more glossed over. To suit your listening style and your audio system, the A30 offers no less than 7 preset equalizers as well as a customizable equalizer. The bass and treble levels can be adjusted in 1dB steps from -10dB to +10dB. Complete connection system

The Loxjie A30 is an integrated 2.1 stereo amplifier and a headphone amp (100mW max) with a built-in DAC (an ESS "Sabre" ES9023) which delivers hi-res audio. The unit cannot be turned off completely, but it needs only 0.5W in standby. Not a big issue. The IR remote included is nicely laid-out and feels decent. I don't think the "Level"-buttons on the bottom right have any function at all though. The range of the IR is vedry good indeed, and its frequency doesn't overlap with my other devices, including my Samsung TV. Listening to the headphone amplifier section on the D30, it takes on a similar tonal balance as the single-ended RCA output section. This means that the headphone output section has a similarly energetic tonal balance injecting more engagement in the music despite being limited to just 110mW into 32Ω. Loxjie provided us with some basic information about the audio board of the device. The device is equipped with ESS Technology’s premium-tier DAC, ES9068AS. As for the HP amplifier stage, Loxjie used Texas Instrument’s OPA1612, which we often see in many different devices. These two main components are assisted by XMOS’ second-generation USB controller, 2 low-phase crystal oscillators, and Loxjie’s special low-noise power stage. The D30 supports PCM up to 32bit-784kHz and DSD up to DSD512 thanks to the second-gen XMOS USB controller. The ES9068AS DAC supports MQA natively and the unit runs driverless in MAC and Linux systems. For Windows, you’ll need this official driver to fully utilize the device. Do note that SMSL’s latest USB driver also works with the D30 and can be used without any issues. With the DA-9, there is a notably flatter tonal balance, making music sound a bit colder and overall less energetic. This can make the DA-9 pair well with some of the warmer speakers like the Wharfedale Diamond 9.4. The Loxjie A30 is an attractive, solid performance with excellent measured and subjective sound quality. Inclusion of a USB DAC and Coax/Toslink input eliminates the need for a DAC for less clutter " I'm building up a budget HiFi setup and I've spent a fair bit of effort trying to find the best budget integrated amps on the market right now. I was a complete noob one week ago and while this subreddit has been amazing, I'm still a bit lost in all the info. As far as I can tell, the main budget Chinese amps with competitive audiophile sound quality (for the price) are: Loxjie A30, Topping MX3, SMSL AD18, and SMSL SA300. The inputs available to the D30 are what you would typically find in most DACs, where there are options for USB, coaxial, Toslink, and Bluetooth 5.0. The D30 is a relatively small and compact DAC, measuring just 151mm x 170mm and taking up very little desk space. Whilst it is not the biggest component there is substantial heft in the chassis, since it’s made of a high-quality aluminum construction that will not only look good but is also designed to mitigate vibrations that may creep in as noise.

EDIT: Actually in the dead silence of the night, if i concentrate, i can still hear the hiss from 1-2 meters away if the speaker is pointed right at my ear... but it's still a million times better than my rokit's.. and at least there's a mute button to fix it.. While all these pairings worked well with the A30, there is a marked improvement when the internal DAC or Bluetooth receiver on the A30 is bypassed in favor of an external DAC. Internally, the L30 is based on Topping’s NFCA amplifier topology, and it promises diminishingly low THD numbers, with the THD+N on the L30, in particular, being measured at 0.00007%.

Subwoofer output

Like most DACs, the D30 strives to be generally neutral, and to some extent, the D30 achieves that except for a slight dip in the upper midrange and lower treble. This leads to the D30 having a more relaxed presentation, ensuring that even the more treble sensitive out there won’t have any sibilance issues due to the D30. Timbre Speakers: I wanna get similarily big speakers with a deep low end, up to 450€ per pair, no subwoofer The sound impressions done with the A30 were completed using the analog inputs and output combined with the D30 DAC using either speakers or headphones. All impressions are with the A30 set in direct EQ mode. Summary Unlike most DACs we have reviewed thus far, the MQA decoding capabilities on the D30 are not just limited to USB. It can also extend to both the coaxial and optical connections which means that the D30 can even decode MQA-CD formats. When it comes to creating a soundstage, the internal DAC creates a generally expansive soundscape. However, when it comes to creating layers within the soundstage, the layers end up a bit more compressed particularly when compared to stand-alone DACs such as the A30’s stablemate the Loxjie D30.
