This is one of the more recent products from the Hoegaarden brewery, made as a limited edition in their seasonal beer series. It was launched in 2018 and brewed as a wheat beer made from hops, wheat, yeast, sweet cherry juice, cherry syrup, and hops. The beer is specifically made for springtime, with its fresh cherry aroma making it the perfect drink for your spring picnic. Salad with citrus dressing, grilled white fish, prawns, goat cheese, ginger tofu, guacamole and sausage roll coleslaw. It has the Hoegaarden flavours I remember, but slightly different, almost as if watered down with lemonade as I alluded to before. This is certainly not a bad thing in my opinion, and though it may be a bit carby, Hoegaarden Wit Blanche 0.0 will be on my shopping list in the future. A really clever craft beer, with a lot to offer. It was a Milkman, Pierre Celis, that used the traditional ingredients of yeast, wheat, hops, coriander, orange peel, and water to recreate the white beer in 1965. Several brewers offered to buy from Pierre, and in the end, the white beer ended in the hands of the then Interbrew, now known as Anheuser-Busch InBev. Probably the largest brewer in the world, Anheuser Busch has sealed Hoegaarden’s place as one of the best Belgian white beers worldwide. Lifted High Protein Lager from Lifted Brewing. Surprisingly clear considering the protein in it - 10g per can! Bready malts and stone fruits on the nose, and a malty taste which grows into a citrus bitterness. The body has more heft than your usual lager free-beer.co.uk/lifted-lager… @FreeBeer_UK - Jul 28 Also known as Hoegaarden Citron, it’s a simple brew of the classic wheat beer infused with citrus essence. It’s pale-straw colored, hazy, and has a citrus aroma. The brew has a higher alcohol content than the Agrum at 3% abv. The recipe was passed down through generations, and in the 18th century, the village became one huge Hoegaarden brewery. In 1726 alone, Hoegaarden had 36 breweries and 110 malt houses. However, in 1957, the village’s last brewery closed down, leading to the villagers vying to preserve the original recipe.

Scotch was born in Scotland. Hoegaarden was born in Hoegaarden. At press time we have no idea where Nesquik comes from.Their creation was an inspired beer with a refreshing flavor and captivating aroma, unlike any in the world. The brewery Pierre Celis founded essentially ousted him. When it entered the international market in the 1970s and ’80s, Hoegaarden had to compete against wildly popular, insanely drinkable lagers. Complex, hazy ales like witbier had to either compromise or reconsider going to grad school. Celis wasn’t having any of it — his witbier was authentic, the kind of brew a 15th-century monk would chug and then high-five you for. So he exited the company in 1989. Hoegaarden is now owned by none other than brewing megalith AB InBev. It’s a witbier, which doesn’t mean ‘wheat beer.’ McClelland Premium Imports. (2014, December 4). Hoegaarden Cherry Source: https://hoegaarden.com/the-beers/#240Hoegaarden is a Belgian wheat beer producer that has a long and fascinating history. Where is Hoegaarden beer from? This tasty beer originates from the Belgian village of Hoegaarden where it was first created almost 600 years ago by monks. The monks improved the taste of the beer by experimenting with botanicals and spices from around the world, including coriander and orange peel which combine to make Hoegaarden’s unique and delicious flavour. If we’re to believe most million-dollar beer advertisements, brews should be consumed in frosty mugs, ideally in proximity to mountains and/or bikini-clad women. Hoegaarden doesn’t pander to that stereotype. Years before craft beer had us all nervously rethinking beer-serving temperature and glassware, Hoegaarden was asking the Budweiser faithful to take a chance on an unfiltered, citrusy-spiced European recipe with ancient religious roots and little to no apparent sex appeal. And it worked. Hoegaarden is both 6 centuries and 50 years old. Hoegaarden. (n.d.). Hoegaarden. Hand Family Companies. Retrieved February 1, 2022, from https://www.handfamilycompanies.com/hoegaarden
