About this deal

Far from just showing pictures and making noise, the 43A6GTUK has a few handy extras up its sleeve. This Hisense smart TV is equipped with Wi-Fi and a range of built in apps. Choose from content across various on-demand platforms, including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, and more. Plus, with Freeview Play, you’ll also have access to over 40,000 hours of on-demand TV and 700+ box sets all in one place. We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for two months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. Build quality is perfectly acceptable, and while there’s nothing luxurious about the feel of the plastics from which the Hisense is mostly made, there are no creaks or groans from the frame either. Keep the price uppermost in your mind and there’s little to be disappointed about here. We uploaded the latest brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test.

There are many TVs, at all sorts of prices, which make us suggest you buy a soundbar. The Hisense A6G is a TV that makes us shout ‘BUY A SOUNDBAR’ at the tops of our voices. It’s fitted with an audio system of two full-range drivers powered by a total of 16 watts - and while Hisense may have been shooting for ‘smooth and inoffensive’ it’s actually ended up with ‘bland and uninvolving’. The Hisense A6G is a budget model, so the LCD panel is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. It has native 8-bit colour depth and uses Frame Rate Control (FRC) to simulate 10-bit colour depth. These panel limitations mean the set is unable to take full advantage of 4K HDR’s 10-bit colour depth and gamers in search of 4K resolution at 120Hz will need to look elsewhere. On a final note, Hisense is also adding a range of Laser TVs to its 2021 collection. Coming in 88- and 100-inch screen sizes, these models come with an ultra-short-throw Laser engine, which Hisense says will produce stunning picture detail and colour precision. We don’t know much about these yet so you’ll have to watch this space. Hisense TVs 2021: Model names explained

Even its upscaling of HD isn’t at all bad, adding at least a little texture and detail without exaggerating noise. Add to this some decent shadow detail retention in the darkest image corners and you’ve got dark scenes that don’t instantly and distractingly look like some poor relation to bright scenes. This level of consistency is enough in itself to embarrass an uncomfortable number of more expensive TVs. You may not use any portion of the Device for any other purposes other than as permitted herein, including but not limited to illegal activity, to make solicited and/or unsolicited offers or advertisements, to impersonate or falsely claim affiliation with any person or entity, to misrepresent, harass, defraud or defame others, to post, upload, transmit or disseminate any obscene, unreasonably offensive or any other unlawful material, or any information that may negatively impact our reputation, goodwill and/or the Smart Services, nor for any commercial purposes. Except as expressly permitted by this EULA, and except to the extent provided for by applicable laws, you may not disassemble, reverse engineer and/or tamper with the Application(s), or transmit hidden or malicious code or to collect information of other users through the Application(s). You are not permitted to copy, edit, modify, alter or create a derivative work of, reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of any Application, unless expressly permitted by us in writing, or to the extent permitted under the laws applicable to you, and you will not permit or grant a license to any third party to do so. You may not take any action to interrupt the functionality of or tamper with the Materials contained in or provided through the Smart Services or its servers or to unreasonably affect others’ enjoyment of the Smart Services in any way. You may not in any manner attempt to gain unauthorized access to 1) any portion or feature of the Device; 2) the Smart Services, or any other systems or networks connected to the Device; 3) the Smart Services or to any Hisense controlled server; or 4) to any of the Applications, Materials, or other services offered on or through the Smart Services. There are three HDMI 2.0 inputs with support for 4K at 60Hz, HDR, ALLM, HDCP 2.2, and CEC. One of the HDMI inputs also supports eARC. Contrary to what is stated in Hisense’s marketing, this TV doesn’t support HDMI 2.1, VRR or HDR10+. As an upscaler, the Hisense is reasonably adept with 1080p content and all at sea with anything less information-rich. Taking a Full HD image and making it fit the screen doesn’t impact too badly on detail levels or colour fidelity, and motion remains admirably smooth and stable too. But edges can get a bit restless, and the depth of field that is at such a premium with 4K stuff disappears altogether. But taking some DVD-borne information, say, or (worst-case scenario) some daytime TV broadcasts gives the A6G what used to be called ‘the vapours’. Detail levels fall off a cliff, to be replaced by ambiguity and noisiness. Few are the televisions capable of making pictures look simultaneously soft and edgy, but the Hisense 55A6G is one of them. Audio performance

Big things are happening for Hisense’s TV line-up in 2021, with a new range packing all the top tech at remarkably affordable prices

With a Netflix-derived 4K Dolby Vision stream of Enola Holmes up and running, there are obvious and numerous positives to the way the Hisense goes about its work. Detail levels, for example, are respectably high - and that’s true of even the finest details of texture or skin-tone. There’s very agreeable insight into darker tones, without the rather artificial cast some screens can succumb to when trying to eke out the minutiae from dimly lit scenes. We may revise and update this EULA from time to time in our sole discretion. All changes will be posted at your Device or through update with reasonable period before they become effective. They deemed to be accepted by you unless you have notified us of your refusal within the above-mentioned period. In case of refusal you can terminate the EULA with immediate effect. In all other cases the updated EULA applies to all access to and use of the Device and the Smart Services thereafter.

It’s unusual to find any departure from the accepted idea of ‘design’ where televisions are concerned, and that goes double when the TV in question is priced as aggressively as the Hisense A6G. So it follows that this TV looks reassuringly like a TV, with no gratuitous design flourishes to be seen. If you’re looking to upgrade your TV to a model with modern features and stunning image quality, look no further than the Hisense 43A6BGTUK. For a start, it’s very dim for an HDR TV, with a peak brightness of around 300cd/m² on both a 10% window and full-field in Dynamic mode. In the more accurate Cinema mode, this luminance drops to 250cd/m² on both a 10% and a full-field pattern. Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. The L5F is the second of two Laser TVs that have been introduced for 2022. This model takes advantage of an Ultra Short Throw Laser to produce a 4K Ultra HD image.
