About this deal

Green shampoo is designed specifically to neutralize red tones that may appear in dark brown hair. If you have red-colored hair, it’s important to know that green shampoo is not meant for your hair type. Just rinse your hair with Coke after washing it, and you will notice a slight difference. We don’t recommend using this as your standard hair routine, just in cases where your bleach has turned green. You shouldn’t use green shampoo every day instead of your regular shampoo. We advise using it once a week and following this routine: Green shampoo is a color-depositing shampoo that works by neutralizing red tones in the hair. This can work on both hair dyed red and naturally occurring red undertones in darker hair. It won’t change the hair color, just tone down the red.

Note: If you’re looking for a potential solution using household products, some ladies have “corrected” their hair naturally using an apple cider vinegar rinse. In our experience, this solution provides inconsistent results in removing warm tones. TRESemmé Colour Revitalise Vibrance Protection Shampoo

Green shampoo is for either toning down unwanted red from red hair dye or unwanted red undertones showing in naturally darker hair that happens from heat styling or other environmental factors. Next, follow up with your conditioner. You’ll apply this to your strands just as you would apply your regular conditioner. #4. WAIT IT OUT Color correctors are particularly helpful when you have tried other methods to neutralize the red, but it still hasn’t gone away. You can use color correctors just as you would a box dye.

If, on the other hand, you’ve colored your hair red or you have naturally red hair and you like the color, don’t go using green shampoo! It will change the color of your hair and tone down the red. Sometimes, trying to neutralize red tones can result in a whole new hair disaster. To prevent that, we’d like to share some dos and don’ts that can help make the process run smoothly. Dos As you see, there are many things you can use to wash off the green undertones; therefore, you don’t have to worry about it. Read the instructions as to how long to leave it in. You will not get a better result if you use it more often or leave it in longer than recommended. To help rid of brassy or yellow tones, mix purple food coloring or dye with your favorite conditioner and leave it in your hair for a few minutes before rinsing.

TIGI Bed Head Colour Goddess Oil Infused Shampoo

While I love this shampoo's results, I'm not in love with the process. First of all, because the shampoo contains dyes, it can leave behind a greenish-yellow stain. The stain isn't permanent, but it can be annoying to have to use gloves (as recommended on the bottle). Although this shampoo can be used daily, I use it about four times a week, since I only wash my hair that often.
