The infamous, Most Wanted Goosebumps characters are out on the loose and after you. For the second time ever, it's a Goosebumps Christmas! Kate Welles doesn't want to be special. She just wants to play the lead in her school's Christmas play. Her annoying "friend" Courtney is constantly getting in the way of that. Can you even call someone a "friend" if all they do is make fun of you and ruin everything all of the time? But Kate has to get along with Courtney or else neither of them will be allowed to take part in The 12 Screams of Christmas. This book includes the following short stories: "Ghoul School", "The Revenge" and "The Mummy with My Face". Stine started writing when he was 9 years old! He would write stories and jokes on an old typewriter and hand them out at school. “The teacher would grab them and take them away,” Stine says, “but I kept doing it.” He wrote for his high school newspaper in Columbus Ohio. After graduating from Ohio State University, he moved to New York City, where he worked on a variety of writing jobs. The books see children placed in terrifying situations in which they have to overcome a frightening monster. Most of the original Goosebumps books can be read as standalones as they have self-contained plots. However, the exception to this is when a book has a direct sequel. Marissa and Justin the kids of the famous writer and storyteller Richard Clarke decide to help their father find an ancient parchment called "The Lost Legend," and soon find themselves in the woods of Brovania, home to silver-coated dogs, thousands of mice, and Vikings thought to have been dead long ago.

Kids reading Goosebumps may be looking for a scare, but the laughs they get are no accident. Before he was R.L., he was Jovial Bob, author of such works as 101 Silly Monster Jokes, and Bozos on Patrol and editor of Bananas magazine. His ability to know what kids will laugh at , as well as what will frighten them, makes the Goosebumps series all the more enjoyable for his readers.
