British author Helen Bailey was born and raised in a village called Ponteland, which is located nine miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, she has one brother named John. She was born August 22, 1964. While in school, she daydreamed about other things that had nothing to do with her studies. She graduated from Ponteland High School and would later get her degree in physiology from Thames Polytechnic with the intention to becoming a forensic scientist. She liked the idea of people calling her Dr. Bailey and walking around in a lab coat. Bailey wrote five books of "teenage angst" in the Crazy World of Electra Brown series: Life at the Shallow End (2008), Out of my Depth (2008), Swimming Against the Tide (2009), Taking the Plunge (2009), and Falling Hook, Line & Sinker (2010). [8] She was nominated for a " Queen of Teen" award in 2010. [2] [9] In Running in Heels (2011), she featured a new character, Daisy Davenport. [10] Bailey also wrote books for younger children, including the Willow the Woodsprite series, the Topaz series, and the Felicity Wishes series. [11] In all, she had 22 books of short stories, picture books and young-adult fiction published. [5] [12] In his closing statement, prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC told the jury that Stewart's version of events was "quite absurd" and that the accused had "grossly deceived" Bailey, saying: "It is perfectly plain she was completely overwhelmed by what some people might call ' love bombing'... it is a matter of common sense and knowledge that someone shortly bereaved might not have the logical equipment to see she was being deceived." [44] In response, Simon Russell Flint, the barrister acting for Stewart, dismissed the prosecution's "highly speculative theories", and asked, "What possible motive could he have?" While working as a temporary secretary, she met and would later marry John Sinfield, who was the head of a licensing rights company. The couple would be together for a total of twenty-two years and were married for the final fifteen years; their relationship ended upon his death in early 2011 while her and John were both in Barbados. The cause of death was drowning. While still married to John, she got a dog in 2008 named Boris (a dachshund). That being said, she does have a serious side as well. She gets to the bottom of her family’s problems, and she even serves as the go to person for answers for some people. She is also interested in the handsome boys from her school, and is severely insecure about her looks, and wants the attentions of a certain boy at school. She is a classic thirteen year old in Britain. Following her disappearance on 11 April, extensive searches were carried out at her holiday home in Broadstairs, Kent after friends said they believed she might have gone to have “some time to herself”.

As an author, she has written novels for young teen girls, many books for smaller kids (the “Willow the Woodsprite” series, the “Topaz” series, the “Felicity Wishes” series), and a book written for adults (that is based off her blog, where she talks about how she got through her grief and her relationship with her husband, life after losing him, and the beginnings of her new relationship with Ian Stewart). Her career in writing starts much earlier than this, however, as, in her teens, she bought The Writers’s and Artists’s Yearbook with her own money and would spend time sending her stories and poems to anyone that she could think of. Some of the stories that she had written and submitted were bought by these publishers.
