However, the second half of the book won me over, as the pace increases significantly due to the shorter chapters, and the answers I needed were discovered. Thank you to Macmillan Audio, St. Martin’s Press, and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. It really pains me to have to write yet another (The Dilemma) less than raving review of one of Paris' books. I really enjoyed this author's debut, and enjoyed her follow-up, The Breakdown, even more so, but then something happened and her subsequent releases have left a lot to be desired.

If you thrive on books that leave you feeling trapped, isolated and with no one to turn to, then this is definitely the book for you. The story ends exactly like I expected and I liked that. In spite of that, I have to say the ending felt a little rushed. Everything was somehow too neat IMO. I would have liked to know more about some aspects in these characters’ lives and also the story to be longer. Also, IMO would have been better with more psychological elements…I know, I know…I’m greedy, but it's what I would have preferred. Wild Bunch Germany, producers Scott Steindorff and Dylan Russell of Stone Village Productions and prolific stage producer Scott Delman of Shadowfox Productions are making the adaptation based on the story of a perfect marriage gone wrong. The tale follows a woman whose dream husband suddenly becomes her worst nightmare immediately following their wedding day.

Behind Closed Doors, a series of live music performances recorded for the Dutch multimedia platform 3voor12 Overall none of the characters are not developed 'enough' – – they are too one -dimensional. We begin to get 'told' what was happening - rather than get a full experience/ .......a showing, an authentic unfolding of the story. While I can’t say I loved this one, I liked it enough to consider reading another book from this author.Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn't work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows. Another book that I have complex feelings for! Firstly I have to admit this is not my favorite book of B. A. Paris! But it is still easy to read and captivating! Whew! This was certainly one creepy and screwed up story. I expected it to be really messed up, but not in quite the way that it was. A pervasive sense of uneasiness stayed with me the entire time that I was reading this book. Creepy...Very creepy. This was like a B list movie to me-you know the kind…you aren’t sure if it’s bad acting or if the actors have just been given bad lines……🫣
