Well this is an interesting little gem! "Bobiverse" gives you a reasonable expectation of just how serious and in-depth the author is aiming at and there is definitely an almost young adult feel to some of the writing and narration. However, there is cleverness here too, once the author gets into the implications of a software generated mind controlling advanced technology the whole thing expands and becomes rather inventive. He wakes up a hundred and thirteen years later as a digital copy of the original Bob, one of five replicants made from different people, all made in the hopes that one will be able to pilot a Von Neumann probe. Despite some unexpected political turmoil, Bob manages to survive Earth and escape the Sol system intact, then begins creating more Bobs. The Bobs then proceed to explore the galaxy, finding new worlds and life, find out what happened to Earth while facing hostile probes and other threats. Apocalypse How: When the Brazilians fired on the HEAVEN-1, this started a war. Every nation got involved, and China eventually destroyed Brazil by dropping asteroids on them. Riker and Homer arrive just as the last Brazilian warships are preparing to drop asteroids on what's left of China, which would render the Earth uninhabitable in weeks instead of decades. Once the warships are dealt with, Riker works to evacuate the fifteen million survivors, since it will take ten thousand years for Earth's biosphere to recover. The few survivors on the Earth are by now being evacuated. However, there are a few people who are trying very hard to sabotage that process. The very first alien species which the Bobs have encountered, the Deltans, are at higher risk from a nastier danger as compared to the gorilloids. The Romulan and Vulcan colonies also have their own set of issues. The mad Brazilians are still out there. To make matters even worse, the terrifying discovery which one member of the Bob family made towards the end of the 1st novel looms large and it’s becoming incredibly dangerous.Enemy Mine: He's actually not in favor of destroying humanity, merely destroying all replicants, which he views as perversion of his life's work and sees his association with VEHEMENT as means to that end.
