By carefully distinguishing between anger the feeling, and violence the behaviour, this accessible little book, primarily created for ages 6 to 15, helps to create an awareness of anger, enabling children to relate creatively and harmoniously at critical stages in their development. The premise of the book is that anger is okay and natural, and you do not need to feel ashamed or scared when you are angry. You can talk about your anger, and try to physically calm your body, but you cannot be abusive and hurt yourself, others, or property. It is normal to feel angry at times. It is what we do with those feelings that matter. Have you ever felt frightened by someone’s anger or have felt their own anger as an explosion? Being a Dramatherapist I work with symbols and metaphor. Sometimes an image can say what words cannot. Full of stories, exercises, and easy-to-use games designed to encourage children to see their anger and to deal with it constructively.
