About this deal

The Tobi 2 comes with four educational “brain games” and four “arcade games.” The brain games include “Smash Math,” in which players touch the correct solution to the equation, and “Match Match,” which tests memory. Arcade games include “A-Maze-Ing Balance,” in which players guide colored balls into holes, and “Drivin’ Time,” in which players collect tokens and try to avoid crashes. The games can be controlled using the touchscreen as well as motion controls via a built-in gyroscope. The games are fun and run smoothly…most of the time. Movement motivation Considering my very first iPhone stored about as many photos, this seems incredible for a kids smartwatch—and definitely in a good way. Tobi™ and Tobi™ 2 are the coolest ranges for children! Star of the range is the award-winning Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch – the first and only ‘robot smartwatch’ in the world! It combines all the interactive features of a smartwatch but its playful robot Comes to Life Before Your Eyes™! Tobi™ Friends (Beeper and Chatter) react to voices and sounds with cool lights and moves! Our seven-year-old tester was instantly attracted to its vivid display that lets you swipe between its built-in features including a camera, speaker and microphone. There are 20 built-in apps including a host of games to keep kids occupied and our tester was particularly taken with the motion detection games such as Ninja Roll and Snake that encourages movement. If paired with another Kurio watch user kids can play games such as noughts and crosses, which seems like a nice interactive touch, as does its ability to send photos, emojis, doodles, texts and voice messages to other Kurio watches via Bluetooth. The device is waterproof it can withstand splashes from rain, washing hands. Based on its specs, it is not recommended to submerge in underwater. Make it sure that the micro USB port is covered/completely closed to keep the water entering the inside of the smartwatch.

The Kurio doesn’t have as many high-tech features as the X5 Play and doesn’t need a sim card, but it is smarter than the Vtech – with its options for pink, blue and purple rubber straps, you would be forgiven for thinking it has a similar spec at surface-level. What it has that makes it feel more suited to an older audience than the Vtech however, is a 1.54-inch 240x 240pixel touchscreen digital interface, which has the feel of a mini computer screen. The extra strap that comes in the box is also a colour-changing thermal strap that changes from purple to blue. Tobi is an interactive animated character with a playful personality. His eyes and mouth change shape to show around 100 expressions based on how kids interact with him. Tobi also makes gibberish noises to punctuate how he feels. (You can adjust the volume in the settings menu.) Pros: Impressive camera with photo and video effects; lots of games Cons: A little garish (for adults!) If your kiddo’s bestie has a Tobi Robot watch too, you can pair the two devices so they can experience the thrill of swapping emojis. The controlled pairing occurs via Bluetooth, so they can share things only if they’re within about 50 feet of each other. If you’re hoping to draw your elementary schooler’s attention away from the TV toward a screen that promotes more engagement and active participation, the Tobi 2 Robot Smartwatch can be an effective distraction. Tobi the Robot is certainly a captivating and engaging character, and many of the built-in activities will work your kid’s brain or get your kid to work out in a fun, innovative way. Little ones can choose between ‘brain’, arcade and fitness games and earn rewards for extra play features

Freeze Dance: a dance activity game similar to musical chairs. Dance while the music plays, then freeze when the music stops SafeWise has conducted impartial research to recommend products. This is not a guarantee. Each individual’s unique needs should be considered when deciding on chosen products. ENCOURAGES ACTIVE PLAY. Includes a motion sensor for the built-in pedometer and dance activity games to get kids moving There’s a little flap covering the charging port on the side of the Tobi watch, just under the home button.Pros: Ideal for 4-6 years; fun interactive robot Cons: Bit too chunky for small wrists – holding it with the clip casing was preferable for our young tester On the Tobi screen, you can interact with the gibberish-speaking robot. Tobi will show icons with activity ideas, and if you’re on that screen the robot won’t stop bugging you unless you’re still for 25 seconds. For many kids, that means Tobi simply won’t stop until the kid—or, let’s face it, the parent—decides it’s time to turn the watch off completely. Features of the Tobi 2 Robot Smartwatch If your little one needs a break from the games, they can practice taking photos or videos. The Tobi Robot watch has a selfie camera and a point-of-view camera and stores up to 3,000 photos or 30 minutes of video. The first and only Robot Smartwatch in the world. The Tobi™ Robot Smartwatch combines all the interactive features of a smartwatch with a playful robot Comes to Life Before Your Eyes™.
