About this deal

Children are leaving their teeth for the tooth fairy and waking up to find odd things under their pillows! Why does Alfie want a tooth from Raj and not from someone at school, many of whom seem to be losing their teeth every day? P9 “Good …” continued Mr grey, in his monotonous voice. “ A bit less of the old though, thank you, Gabriella. Now as a special treat for you, with a talk about looking after your teeth, here is the town’s new dentist. P-p-p-please give a huge school welcome to the lovely Miss R-R-Root…”

Am I an old misery guts? I hope not. I don't think Walliams will lose money with Demon Dentist, and I can see that it's going to be popular. I just think he's selling himself short by veering in this direction with his writing. Demon Dentist is in many ways his saddest book, but I found Billionaire Boy much more moving and that was about a rich kid! I found Boy in the Dress very upsetting - because a boy's dad missed his wife. These were more considered and character-driven, they didn't try as hard to win readers. My favourite part in the book was when Alfie and Gabz and Alfie’s Dad give chase on a steam train which has TNT on the side as it added more excitement to the adventure. This is not an interactive show so there aren’t any opportunities for children to really join in, although they do occasionally, and the major characters including Sam Varley’s Alfie, Georgia Grant-Anderson’s Gabz and especially Emily Harrigan’s Miss Root are very appealing. The Demon Dentist proves a nice alternative to the plethora of pantos and Christmas shows and if only a visit to the dentist were usually this entertaining. David Walliams wants to be Roald Dahl so badly it hurts and illustrator Tony Ross has obviously been told to rip-off Quentin Blake's drawing style as shamelessly as humanly possible...But the main book emphasis goes around a very poor boy and his very unfortunate life. I see how this part is set to teach kids sympathy and tenderness, not to bully the ones that don't or can't fit in, be compassionate and understanding. P1 The first thing you noticed about Miss Root was her teeth. She had the most dazzling white smile. Whiter than white. Like a fluorescent light. Her teeth were absolutely flawless. So flawless they couldn’t possibly be real. The second thing you noticed about Miss Root was that she was impossibly tall. Her legs were so long and thin, it was like watching someone walk on stilts. She was dressed in a white laboratory coat, like the one a Science teacher wears when it’s time for an experiment. Underneath the coat, her white blouse was matched by a long white flowing skirt. As she passed, Alfie looked down and noticed a large splash of red on the toe of one of her shiny white high-heeled shoes. Is it blood? thought Alfie. DANGER ALERT! If your dentist is called Miss Root and has ice-cream shaped hair, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

I really enjoyed this book as it was full of fun and adventure which I could relate to. I felt sorry for all of the small children who have their teeth stolen as I would be very sad if that happened to me!Don't miss this terrific tale from the West End producers of David Walliams' Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy, which were both nominated for an Olivier Award! It's the funniest and most exciting show yet! The mihrab is an alcove in the Qiblah wall. The Imam (leader) stands in the alcove to deliver prayers. The mihrab is normally very ornately decorated. A couple of weeks ago, I read the book, Demon Dentist, in English. It's a kid book, but I enjoyed it very much. Even though we are mature, some of growing ups don't like dentists. I do understand the protagonist feelings very much.

Join Alfie and Gabz on this fabulous adventure, as they investigate the strange events happening in their hometown. Children are leaving their teeth for the tooth fairy and waking up to find odd things under their pillows! Alfie and Gabz are determined to get to the bottom of the mystery - but no-one could have dreamed what they’ll discover when they come face to face with the demon dentist herself, in this hilarious and thrilling story. P6. Nevertheless, even with a lengthy human chain and an army of yanker, the tooth stayed well and truly put. By this time poor little Alfie was in great distress. The pain of having his tooth pulled out was a hundred times worse than the toothache. However, Mr Erstwhile was determined to finish what he had started. Sweating profusely, the thirsty dentist took a large swig of mouthwash, and gripped on to the forceps as tightly as he could. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH FUN! Join Alfie and Gabz on this fabulous adventure, as they investigate the strange events happening in their home town! Alfie and dad enjoyed doing stories together. They would close their eyes and from their little bungalow Dad would take Alfie on all sorts of trilling adventures. They would ride on magic carpets, dive under the oceans, even drive stakes through the hearts of vampires through stories. It's in notebook form for IWB (Interactive White Boards) and I don't have one any longer so cannot use this resource sadly - I would have Loved to!
Poor Raj, formerly my favourite character is taken out of his lovely corner shop context and put more firmly in the action, only to be "cowering" in every scene. This production of Demon Dentist is perfect for families of all ages and is now my favourite David Walliams story!” Teesdale Mercury Join Alfie and Gabz on this fabulous adventure, as they investigate the strange events happening in their home town! Alfie and Gabz are determined to get to the bottom of the mystery – but no-one could have dreamed what they'll discover when they come face to face with the demon dentist herself, in this hilarious and thrilling story! The book is very funny and it has lots of made up words which you can use later. For example 'chocolated' which we might use instead of covered in chocolate. Some of us like using weird words such as jellytastic: so if you went to a TV show and were trying out different types of jelly, the best jelly would be jellytastic and would win the best jelly in the universe.
