About this deal

Apple Music 3.7.2 on another Android 10 device (from Google Play, albeit) works great, suggesting it's not something intrinsic in Apple Music. Hi how would you compare tue m3x to shanling m2x soundwise. I know that m3x is an android player and m2x not. The promised 16X unfolding for MQA is done for local files, and it is done 2X by the CPU, and 8X by the DAC, while for streaming, MQA is done at 2X level. I’m not a strong proponent of MQA, but I do recommend trying it for fun. M3X was designed as a scaled down version of our flagship M8, to be a more practical and smaller player, with only 4.2-inch touch screen. Making it 25% smaller and lighter than our older M6 and M6 Pro players. Fiio FH9 w/Fiio LC RE Pro 2022)

In term of sounds which is better for you the Shanling M3X or the Ibasso DX160 ? I have three headphones the Audio Technica M50X the Sennheiser momentum M2 and the Philips Fidelio X2. I’m listening all types of music ” Rap Folk Electro Pop Soul Funk etc “. Battery lifeShanling claims 23 hours from single ended, 20 hours from the single ended dual DAC mode and 19 hour via balanced. I didn’t attempt to run the device through a full 19 hours to see where it ended up but it did make through my normal work day via the balanced output with 60-ish percent left by the end of the day. I would assume that the claimed battery life times are fairly correct. The Shanling M3X has a Line-Out mode as well, in this mode, the device forces the volume at max and doesn’t let you control it. It can be accessed from the scroll-down menu and on that menu, you can see a couple of audio-related options such as gain, DAC mode, and Android mode. You can also access the audio settings menu from here. In that menu, you can change lowpass filter mode, output type between LO and PO, gain, DAC mode, and channel balance. You can also set a max volume to protect your ears and set a certain value as the boot volume. OTA Firmware Updates

Shanling M3X vs FiiO M11 PRO (340 USD vs 650 USD) – This may seem like an unfair comparison, as M3X is far cheaper than M11 PRO, but being cheaper in price does not necessarily mean that it is cheaper in build or features. From the start, the battery life is better on M3X, and driving power is much better on M11 PRO on Single Ended. In fact, M11 PRO has on single ended as much as M3X has on balanced, and the balanced of M11 PRO is far better than even that. M11 PRO is still a killer DAP in general, but if you need a downsized version of that, there is nothing from FiiO to fill in the gaps, so I would like to nominate M3X as the best option there if you loved M11 PRO, and wanted to get something for half the price, and for about half the driving power. M3X is sweeter in the midrange, has a similar bass presentation to M11 PRO, and a deeper presentation, with a more rounded presentation, where M11 PRO is wider than it is deep. M11 PRO has better detailing and overall clarity, but not twice as good, so for budget-limited folks, M3X may be able to give that better price / performance ratio if M11 PRO doesn’t cut it. The overall treble is a bit more sparkly on M11 PRO, with M3X having a smoother and more refined treble, being more forgiving. This can typically be seen in the midrange and bass frequencies where some even harmonic tones add to a rounded and smooth signature. There is some treble lift which is especially evident in the ‘Dual DAC’ mode which add some transparency and greater level of resolve in the overall sonic soundscape. Shanling Quotes an output impedance of less than 10 OHMs, so I was concerned it may have some hissing with sensitive IEMs, but actually it is in the same ballpark as Lotoo Paw 6000and FiiO M11 PRO, so IEMs that are really sensitive may present some hiss, but most IEMs won’t have any trouble. We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. PRaT, Texturization, Detail, Resolution, Dynamics, Impact, and overall tonality are all revealed by those songs. We recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music!Hi guys, complete newbie here. I've just ripped my cds to flac and the only decent headphones I have are an old pair of Philips Fidelio L1, but looking to upgrade in the future if I need to. An example of this is in ‘Sativa’ by Jhene Aiko & Swae Lee, where the more modest delivery of bass complement the overlying vocals and accompanying instruments. For those who yearn for deeper and more authoritative bass, the M3X may not suffice.

does not give the idea of being an entry level DAP, especially from a qualitative and multimedia point of view. Remember, there are only 1500 units available (only 500 available for the international market). So act fast before it is all gone! Also, I am interested on the Hiby r5 saber. Is the MQA function equal to the shanling, but with 8x unfold? Accessories and unboxingInside the box we get the player, a charging/data cable, two extra screen protectors and the user guide/warranty card. I’m honestly ok with the included accessories as most people don’t need more than the basics for a DAP. Customers have to bear any form of custom/import/processing fees that are applicable for your parcel. The M3X offers 32 gigabytes of storage. The system and cache take around 6-7 gigabytes and the rest is available for your apps, FLACs, and DSDs. Of course, the M3X supports SD cards up to 2TB. It also supports external storage devices via the USB OTG feature. It is nice to have the option to use Tidal offline and load everything on to the SD-card.

Hiby R6 2020The bigger R6 does everything better in terms of sound quality and power under the hood. It is also super big and chunky. I found using the light M3X more enjoyable and it didn’t heat up nearly as fast as the R6 2020. While the R6 and M3X both have a warmer tuning, the R6 has a more detailed and natural sound. If battery life and portability are the main focus, I think the M3X is a better EDC device. The R6 2020 is my favorite around the house or when I need to do more critical listening. Features: 16x MQA unfolding, Bluetooth both ways, AirPlay, Wifi… You name it, the M3X Limited has it. However, I find that the WiFi here takes a bit longer than expected to connect to 5Ghz Wifi bands. Do keep that in mind as I find it annoying at times.

Personal grips with the M3X?My only real complaint with the M3X is the version of Android being used. If you’re using any streaming apps like I do, there is always the risk that the devs will drop support for older operating systems one day. This isn’t a problem if you’re only using locally stored music. I use Soundcloud and Tidal and while I have a DAP that is running a newer version of Android, I always wonder how long apps will be supported for. Introducing Shanling M3XM3X is our newest Android Hi-Res portable player, built on the same platform as our previous three Android models. But this time we are aiming at the more affordable part of the market, with a little bit less focus on the most demanding DAC chipsets and the most powerful amplifiers. The Cayin N3Pro is a hybrid DAP implementing dual AKM4493 chips & a JAN6418 vacuum tube. Like the Shanling M3X, the N3Pro offers users the ability to switch between tonalities. The differences in the N3Pro ‘switches’ are more evident, however, with its solid-state and tube modalities. In all modalities, the N3Pro offers a warmer sound compared to the M3X.
