About this deal

It is as simple to use as a conventional pump, but with the accuracy you get from garage forecourt machines." Award-winning digital tyre inflator that rapidly inflates a 13 tyre from 0 to 35PSI in two minutes. The RING RTC1000 is not the first automatic tyre inflator I have ever used, but overall it is the best I have tried to date. It certainly beats the old foot-pump I used in bygone days, and is a lot more convenient (and probably more accurate) than the machines on garage forecourts. And once you’ve bought it, of course, it’s free to use! I’ve used it to top up car and motorbike pressures and once to seat a stubborn tubeless tyre on a mountain bike. I like the screw-on fittings and long hose but generally think a digital gauge is easier to use than an analogue one. It’s a hefty bit of kit, but super speedy and surprisingly quiet. The three-legged Draper was an unusual shape, designed to spread the load and keep it stable when working. The hose was a reasonable 50cm long and it wrapped around the device to keep it neat. However, the three-metre cable had nowhere to go, which could be a bind when storing the unit in the car, especially because there was no case.

You can adjust the pressure and change the brightness of the screen all with simple touches, ensuring the OneAmg is among the easiest to use of this entire list. Like all quality inflators, this one features an auto switch off function. It has a similarly futuristic design as its sister product, with its buttons in Michelin’s signature blue and yellow, while the digital LCD display clearly indicates an accurate pressure reading. A previous high flyer, the Sakura was close to the RTC450 and Draper Mini. The inflation times were fair, but the noise level of 81dB with an ambient of 30dB was the highest on test. It came in a soft bag that, at 800g, was ideal for in-car carrying. Although not the end of the world, its reading error of 1.5psi was the joint worst we found.

The pistol design was an interesting variation and, although the buttons were easily accessed at the rear and the three adaptors fitted neatly into slots on the top, the display was very small. It was compromised by the very short 13.5cm hose, which could mean holding the device all the time.

The cable management system is another big plus point. The airline wraps neatly around the top while the 3.5-metre power cable neatly slips around the base of the unit. It allows the device can be neatly stored away in the storage bag. This is something that is nigh-on impossible for lesser tyre inflators once the airline has been unfurled. With its generous 70cm air line, this model can accommodate most cars with ease. Simply enter your desired pressure and the unit will begin to inflate your tyres, and then shut off when it’s done. On the downside, this tyre inflator tends to skip the last one to two units. I don't think we've ever had a Ring Automotive product that hasn't felt like a good quality product, this again feels like it will last. Additionally, it comes with an LED light complete with three modes, so you can use it to warn ongoing traffic if you are in an emergency situation. Under the base, there is a well-designed cord storage area that prevents too many kinks from occurring, as well as a handy area to store the included nozzles and adaptors.

Inflators that come with cases always win extra brownie points on our book, so it’s a good start for the RTC1000. The other additions are also a great touch, the amount of times I’ve had to top the tyres up only to be left with hands covered in grime and brake dust for the rest of my journey, not anymore. With a max pressure of 50psi, it’s not the most powerful inflator on this list, but hit claims to pump a tyre from flat to 30psi in three minutes, which is an impressive feat. A tyre inflator is used to pump up or inflate tyres for cars - and can also be used for bikes, balls, sports equipment, inflatables and more. We're struggling for negatives to be honest and if we're being really critical, when setting a target pressure, it will occasionally fall to just under that pressure after automatically switching off.Not anymore; thanks to the Ring Smart Tyre Inflator, all you have to do is whip out your smartphone. The inflator sits on four rubber feet to prevent it scuttling around your driveway, while the air hose wraps snugly beneath the device. The same can’t be said for the 12V connector, though, which must be wrapped around your hand and cable tied before it can be reinserted into the inflator.
