About this deal

We tried these on straight out of the box. They are lightweight. Extremely lighweight. Lightweight to the point that you feel they must be compromising on something. But, on firm surfaces, or if you play on 4G pitches, they offer everything you need. While the Puma Future Z has retained the “Future” DNA of providing the perfect fit, Puma’s boot engineers sought to express that same DNA in a wildly different approach after 3 years of Netfit, their innovative technology that allowed you limitless lacing options to accommodate any foot shape. Instead of depending on laces, the adaptive FUZIONFIT+ compression band is the star of the show here. The first time I put the boots on, I thought the compression band was tight around my midfoot – if it was a little tighter, the band would have caused cramping in my feet. Within a couple of minutes of light jogging and warm ups, my concerns and the tightness melted away. The compression band is comfy AF. The Puma Future Z is all about mobility Despite the major concept change, Puma’s bold new design has stayed true to the Future DNA by providing one of the best fitting and secure boots in recent years. With an improved design, top notch performance and a new star in Neymar promoting the boots, I’m sure the Puma Future Z will be a commercial success as much as it is a critical one. Last year’s boots, recommended by Rugby World, are available for up to 75% cheaper than the latest Kakaris

Plenty of features you would find on a more expensive boot but at half, or sometimes a quarter, of the cost of their competitors For those looking to be a ball hog like Neymar, the grippy textures across the boot do help you a little in keeping the ball close to your foot. Perhaps it’s not grippy enough to help you add spin to your passes but it provides just enough traction to give you confidence when controlling at a moderate dribbling pace. Putting on the boot isn’t a chore despite how small the mouth looks. All you need to do is to loosen the top laces and in goes your feet. The Puma Future Z fits perfectly width and length wise when I went half a size down. Those with super wide feet should go true to size but for everyone else, go half down. The boots feel light on feet at 220g in a US 9 and you’d be hard-pressed to hear anyone having issues with its weight or how they fit especially when you take your first steps in them. It’s not a deal breaker but I’d like the TPU coating to be thinner and to have a little more knitted material on that upper to provide a more luxurious touch on the Puma Future Z. I did a Reus – I went laceless Engineered for agility and explosivity, the FUTURE Z 2.3 is perfect for prime on-the-field performance. Featuring the second generation of our FUZIONFIT+ technology, it adapts to unique foot shapes, ensuring an optimal fit and the ideal balance between support and flexibility–with or without laces. Advanced Creator Zones positioned at the forefoot deliver exceptional ball control and touch at high speeds, while a lightweight and supremely reactive outsole with studs suitable for firm and artificial ground provides superior traction. Designed to improve skills and comfortable enough for all-day play, you can take your game to the next level.

Frequently Asked Questions

It could be seen as more of the same, except Adidas have taken the design and trimmed weight from it without compromising on other areas. It truly is the boot for the modern forward. The compression bands held my feet firm and pivoting around in the Z soleplate is effortless, even on artificial ground (AG). Puma’s firm ground (FG) boots tend to be quite AG friendly and the Puma Future Z is no exception, earning our seal of approval for AG pitches. Puma claims that “the band was developed using a special combination of polyester and spandex yarns, along with special technical yarns to create the perfect balance of compression, comfort and durability, giving the wearer that second-skin feeling.” Engineered for agility and explosivity, the FUTURE 2.3 is perfect for prime on-the-pitch performance. It’s impossible to write a list of the best rugby boots without including a pair of Kakaris. They have consistently been some of the most popular boots among pros and amateurs alike. The Future Z 2.3 is certainly eye-catching; it will probably catch your opponents eye as you tear past them on the way to scoring! That lightweight construction also doesn’t ignore protection. Puma say the upper has Matryxevo carbon yarn technology and a microfibre speedcage. What that feels like is a firm, but flexible, upper which deflects all but the most insistent stud. Tried and tested by thousands of pro and amateur feet over the years. You are guaranteed a quality boot Keeping in step with their other models, Puma has implemented an FG/AG sole plate on the Future Z 1.3. This hybrid stud pattern is meant to be used on either firm ground (FG) or artificial grass (AG) surfaces.Would suit any player regardless of position. If you are a scrummaging prop or a flighty winger, or even Tipuric himself, you will benefit from this boot There’s no getting away from it, they are very expensive. Puma has other boots in the range (Ultra 2.4 and Ultra 3.4), which are cheaper while still offering some of the same features What should you look out for in a boot? Most boots will be specified as either soft ground (SG) or firm ground (FG).
