Beans is a likeable lead, and despite the unlikely series of events that the story relates, her relationships with her friends and family are warmly and believably portrayed. A lively (if not madcap) adventure that will find fans amongst younger readers. This book had action and suspense because beans’ dad was kidnapped by two kidnappers. the reason why is because beans’ dad invented a device that could be used to get lots of money. Soon, the kidnappers find out. I like beans because she and her friends Louisa and Ann tried their best to save bean’s dad. They are given spy kits that could be used to save dad and send the kidnappers to the jail. I like the book because there is a lot of tension and suspense so you don’t get bored. My favourite character is Beans because she is a hero and is brilliant at solving mysteries. I would recommend it because it’s a entertaining and when you read it, it makes you eager to find out more!Year 6 is made up of three classes: Bagheera (Mrs Astirbadi), Shere Khan (Mrs Platford) and Mowgli (Mr Ballard). Other adults in Year 6 include Mrs Chopra, Miss Vaughan, Mrs Washford and MrsTulloch. We have been inspired by characters from the book Jungle Book and the friendship and acceptance from the characters in the story. This has all the best bits of a child-friendly episode of CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) - looking for clues, dusting for fingerprints, gathering evidence and setting traps. Children will love working alongside the girls - playing detective and solving the mystery. Don’t be surprised to find readers going around the house with pieces of sellotape or cocoa powder on the hunt for finger prints.

Nothing interesting ever happens in Cleevesdon with the exception of the odd explosion coming from the shed in Mr. Conran’s garden. So when kaboom turns to kidnap, fingerprint dust will fly. We start our learning this year with the theme of Narnia, which is the text we have taken a class names from. Narnia is our class read and we use this as a stimulus for our writes, stories, newspaper reports and persuasive letters. Our thematic learning centres around learning about New Zealand which we compare to our locality and develop our understanding of the differences between seasons and time in the southern hemisphere. We recall and build upon previous learning with animals and habitats looking at how animals have adapted and evolved, in particular looking at marsupials. Our art skillset is developed by producing artwork based on animals in the style of Pablo Picasso and Franc Marc. Our learning is thematic meaning each term we focus on one theme through our reading, writing and wider curriculum. By learning in this way, we deepen our understanding, become critical thinkers and develop both knowledge and skills in key areas. A thriller with lots of humour and suspense . . . A very accessible and exciting book for younger readers" ( Writeaway!) Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing -

this book had some funny parts in it. And i liked how the father and daughter had such a good connection. This theme is underpinned by the class read The Highway Man and The Landlady which we use to write suspense stories, play scripts and poetry. In history we learn about the period the Highway Man is set and the geography around travel building on our understanding of infrastructure from Operation Gadgetman. In science we recall and review our learning from the year and previous years ensuring that we are knowledgeable in all areas. Our art focus links in with R.E. through using different sketching techniques to produce sketches inspired by Hinduism. A thrilling detective story littered with wild and wonderful inventions from the award-winning author of PIG-HEART BOY and NOUGHTS AND CROSSES. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments

The whole story about a father who is a great inventor, but later gets kidnapped and his very much intelligent and adventurous daughter trying to rescue him is entertaining. There is a great description and the plot doesn't drag on. Many parts are also expected, but I think the part about the ATM invention was the best. When Beans and her school friends arrive home from school one Friday afternoon following yet another detention and there is no sign of her father, she knows something is wrong. With a bizarrely written letter on the kitchen table the only hint of her father’s whereabouts, Beans and her friends, Ann and Louisia, begin a daring race against time to find Gadgetman before it is too late. Equipped with Gadgetman's new Spy Kit, complete with Spy Kit Instruction Book, can they find Gadgetman before his money-making device ends up in the wrong hands? This resource is a reading comprehension booklet that uses the text Operation Gadgetman as a text to answer higher level questions focused on comprehension, language choice and vocabulary. The booklet is aimed at UKS2 and is based on the well researched and highly effective recommendations in Doug Lemov’s Reading Reconsidered approach.Beans's Dad is a bit of an eccentric. When he's not embarrassing her in front of her friends with his strange behaviour, he's in his workshop inventing ridiculous things like exploding shortbread (and irritating the neighbours while he's about it). But one day, Beans comes home from school to find that he has been kidnapped! She and her friends set out to find him using only their wits and the extraordinary 'Gadgetman Spy Kits' he has given them, and in the process uncover a sinister criminal conspiracy… Buy from our bookstore and 25% of the cover price will be given to a school of your choice to buy more books. *15% of eBooks.
