About this deal

The result is a more consistent ride than the Pegasus and Vomero because CMP 010 foam surrounds the airbag in the forefoot whereas the forefoot of the Pegasus/Vomero feels much firmer than the rearfoot so the ride feels inconsistent. Lightweight, durable, and breathable 3-layer FlyKnit Loft upper mesh. A sturdy upper helps secure the foot, and a comfortable one means you can run longer without chaffing the tops of your feet.

That is not going to happen in these Zooms. Nike built in plenty of room for those toes to spread out. It gives supreme comfort during the workout, and you’ll feel great after you're done. Stability is high even though there is no firmer wedge or medial post. This is due to two main reasons: There are also no longer reflective strips on the sides of the toe box like on the 23, but there are still reflective strips on the sides of the heel counter. The Structure 23’s upper is the definition of plush. It’s so plush and comfortable that it wouldn’t look out of place on a Vomero. It’s actually very reminiscent of the Vomero 11 but without the Flywire cables. I remember watching a Galen Rupp interview years ago in which he said that he has always been a “Structure guy” and does all his training in the Structure. One thing I would agree on, is that for the first mile the shoes need some warm-up. After that, i usually feel like I’m running on clouds. The Structure 23 is a very soft shoe: softer than the Pegasus 37, softer than the Miler and softer than the Vomero 14, making it one of the softest Nike shoes one can buy in the current lineup. On the medial side, the midsole is built up more than on the lateral side so there is a noticeable level of under-arch support without the firm poking sensational.

If you loved the Lunarglide series, the Structure 23 also has shades of the Lunarglide (8 & 9) although the Structure 23 is much more cushioned and has a lot more outsole rubber. If you already have the Structure 23, the Structure 24 is a version that you can skip. If you don’t have the Structure 23, the two versions are so similar that you can save money and get the 23 instead of the 24. Version 23 is lighter and has exactly the same ride as version 24. The Structure 23 fits true to size and has a deep and spacious forefoot. I found it comfortable enough for super long runs but really warm because of the inner sleeve and all the padding. Nike Air Zoom Structure 23 Conclusion The Structure 24’s upper is reminiscent of one found on a max-cushioned trainer and is on par with the Vomero 16 in terms of comfort. I feel that the padding is slightly excessive and that a lot of weight could be shed if it was more minimal. On the midfoot, the light green “Cucumber” coloured material can be seen through the large perforations. Instead of Flywire cables, there are soft, mesh panels which are the Cucumber Calm colour that you can see through the perforations at the midfoot. These work much better than Flywires or Flywire straps Nike has been using. Over time, midsole technologies advanced. Compression-moulded EVA and polyurethane midsole were invented which were a lot more durable. Running shoes became much more stable and the medial sides of the shoes stopped flattening out. The easiest way to tell the difference between the Structure 23 and 24 is the engineered mesh used. It no longer has small perforations on the midfoot and on top of the toe box. Instead, the mesh is smooth so it feels more streamlined.

If the heel were lower to the ground, giving a more grounded feel and platform, it would help provide more support and stability. This feeling of unbalance became more evident the longer I ran. I have been running in Nike Zoom Structure since the 18 model. I have wide feet and have found them the only show to offer me space and stability. Unfortunately with the arrival of my new 22 they are much narrower and therefore very uncomfortable from around 3k with my toes beginning to go numb from 4.5k. However, the Zoom Structures were average, at best. Yes, I was able to log my miles, but the sole unit was too firm and the upper too washy. When I say breathable, I run in sunny Las Vegas, and I’m telling you, the uppers ventilate nicely on those sweaty runs. Soles that politely grip the road On the positive side, the Zoom Structure was a very visually appealing shoe. It has more of a casual, everyday look to it and is filled with bright and vibrant colors. Nike certainly knows how to design an eye catching shoe. Forget everything you previously knew about the Structure series because the Structure 23 is unlike any other Structure shoe to date. Pssst, have you heard about Nike’s React Infinity Run FlyKnit running shoes yet? Well, you have now but did you know Nike designed them specifically to help reduce the risk of running-related injuries for runners who train for half marathons. The word that describes the ride of the Structure 24 best is “balanced”. It feels well-cushioned without being mushy or firm and it falls into the same category as shoes like the ASICS Cumulus, Brooks Ghost and Hoka Clifton– versatile trainers that can fill the role of 2 or 3 shoes in your rotation.

It does however shine on recovery or long runs at relaxed speeds. Slow runs from 15km up to marathon distances are in its wheelhouse. The secrets to how the Nike React Infinity Run can reduce the risk of running-related injuries are the: The Structure 24 is the same price as the Pegasus 38 but is more comfortable and more stable so I’d choose the Structure over the Pegasus even though it’s the heavier shoe.

Many of the firmer, neutral trainers are stable enough to not need a medial post. Examples include the Brooks Glycerin and Ghost, the Saucony Ride and the Mizuno Wave Rider.
