About this deal

The material mirrors the elastic material of the Israeli bandage, again showing the family link, however, the overall length of the T3 bandage is c10cm longer than the Israeli, coming in at just under 1.7 meters. Apart from the usual assortment of plasters and antiseptic wipes for the smaller personal accidents, it is also wise to carry a couple of bandages of some kind. But which one? Haemostatic agents should never be allowed to enter – eyes, airway, chest, head injuries with exposed brain tissue. Loop for one-handed application: Near the gauze pad, a loop is sewn into the bandage, allowing you to slip it over our arm for one-handed application.

The “H” is not face down into the wound — it faces you, sitting on top of the wound. “Today’s bandage, kids, is brought to you by the letter ‘H’!” pressure points. A little more complicated here but basically find a pulse point which is closer to your heart than the wound. For example: A wound to your hand could be controlled by applying pressure on the artery feeding the wound. The brachial artery on the inside of your elbow, for example. You can find the pulse there now if you feel for it. It is at the antecubital fossa, you know, where they take blood. Subsequent wrappings of the leader secures and maintains the pad in place over the wound, and by covering all the edges of the pad acts as a sterile secondary dressing. The bandage leader is woven to remain at its full width and will not bunch up or twist itself into a rope. Pressure dressing is one approach to controlling bleeding. It's not always the first choice, though. Other options include applying a tourniquet or manual pressure.Owned and operated by a Paramedic with a mission to equip and train medical and non-medical individuals with top quality supplies and the knowledge they need to use those supplies in an emergency situation. A tourniquet is a compressing device (bandage), used to control venous and arterial circulation to an extremity for a period of time. The tourniquet is usually applied when the patient is in a life-threatening state as a result of continuous bleeding. The dressing itself unfolds conveniently with the pad on one side and the pressure bar on the other. Remember the mnemonic for treating a sprain? R.I.C.E - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. (Yes, there are many other mnemonics!) The Israeli bandage is a versatile, effective first aid tool. MacGyver would be proud. Whether stopping a bleed, applying a make-shift tourniquet, or splinting an extremity, the Israeli bandage has you covered.

Let’s take a look at how to apply an Israeli Battle Dressing in different scenarios. The Israeli Bandage is used by U.S. and other military forces worldwide. (Photo: Theprepared) On a Limb Using pressure dressing is one of the most effective methods to control hemorrhage. This method stops bleeding, generally, by employing a bandage that can go over the wound followed by a layer of absorbent dressing material. It is then topped by an adhesive, stretchable cover that wraps the area with tight pressure. Cory is a graduate of the prestigious WEMSI school (Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician), and a qualified teached with a masters degree in Environmental Management. He has lead expeditions worldwide (currently an International Mountain Leader) and is a director of Outdoor First Aid Limited. Every haemostatic agent (brand and type) is different and familiarisation training should be sought.
