The iO5 comes in a box that is perhaps a little bigger than it needs to be. But, it’s not terribly oversized. It’s easily recycled and in many instances, you are not getting lots of unnecessary extras included. Of course, the table and quoted prices are just a guide. The actual selling prices vary from one retailer to another. Using the intense mode won’t necessarily remove more plaque from the teeth and gumline. You don’t need a whitening mode to make your teeth whiter — the daily clean mode can achieve this.

I do think you will notice a bit of difference in the clean. It will likely feel a little more powerful. But fundamentally it isn’t going to clean the teeth any better. The iO series is quieter, by about 10 decibels. It is also a little less mechanical sounding, more of a loud humming sound. The Series 5 comes with a refill holder that holds and protects 2 brush heads. The iO6 does not come with this.I just bought the oi series 7 for my 15 and 17 year old boys which both have braces so I was looking to see if I could buy the different brush attachments such as the one for braces and if it’s interchangeable or do I have to but brushes that are specific to the oi 7…? It has many of the most desirable features of the iO range, including the in-handle display. But, it remains relatively affordable and you get the best of both worlds, so to speak.

The iO3, 4 and iO5 have a yellow light that illuminates in the centre of the cleaning mode button. The handle will vibrate too. Many brands of toothbrushes now last 3-4 weeks on a single charge, so the Series 4 really falls a bit short. Particularly when you consider the size of the handle compared to the likes of SURI, which is much slimmer.Realistically you don’t need so many. Daily Clean is more than enough for most, but sensitive mode is welcomed by those suffering with tender gums. It is too a less intense option for new electric toothbrush users to start out with.
