About this deal

The Hisense A6G is a budget model, so the LCD panel is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. It has native 8-bit colour depth and uses Frame Rate Control (FRC) to simulate 10-bit colour depth. These panel limitations mean the set is unable to take full advantage of 4K HDR’s 10-bit colour depth and gamers in search of 4K resolution at 120Hz will need to look elsewhere. Hisense is carving quite a niche for itself with well-specified yet affordable 4K HDR TVs. The A6G, reviewed here, may be unquestionably budget but it’s not boring. The Hisense 55A6BGTUK does not feature QLED ( Quantum Dot LED) technology. QLED displays use quantum dot nanocrystals to enhance color reproduction and brightness. They offer vibrant, accurate colors, high brightness levels, and improved viewing angles. While the Hisense 55A6BGTUK may not have QLED technology, it still provides impressive picture quality with its 4K UHD resolution and HDR support. Ambient Mode

At 74mm deep, this isn’t going to be your first choice for wall-hanging. And given that its simple arc’d feet are so far apart, it’s going to need a fairly wide surface on which to stand. But once you’ve solved the problem of where to put it, the Hisense A6G doesn’t look at all bad: its bezels are slim, its branding is understated, and the plastics from which it’s made don’t feel overtly hard or thin. The SDR performance is good, the input lag low, the smart platform highly effective, and there’s even Dolby Vision support. Roku App Library has many media streaming apps but Google Play Store allows access to a much greater variety of apps than Roku. It is constantly updated to include any new apps introduced. Clearly, Hisense Android TV has an advantage here. With good care, a TCL TV can last up to many years, so you needn’t worry about getting another TV anytime soon! TCL Roku TV Content” means all audio and visual elements and ideas offered by us or third parties, including but not limited to, data, movies, videos, photographs, software, games, designs, likenesses, artwork, images, music, sound, information and other materials, tangible and intangible, including derivative works, on all media and formats, existing or in future.

It provides Roku’s App Library which has all the popular media streaming applications like Netflix, Youtube, Apple TV, Hulu, etc. Obvious competitors where this screen-size/specification/price combination is concerned are few – certainly none of the ‘big five’ manufacturers can lay a glove on this sort of price-to-size ratio. The few brands with any credibility involved in this fight include JVC, TCL and Toshiba – and even then, you’ll struggle to do better on price. Design As a result, the overall SDR picture performance is generally impressive, with images that appear well defined and colours that look natural. There’s some good upscaling and processing as well, allowing the A6G to get the best out of lower resolution content, retaining as much detail as possible and producing an artefact-free image. Incredible cinematic experience. Absolutely blown away by the quality of this TV, the 4k ultra HD resolution delivers an amazing picture quality and vibrant colour display, every small detail is crystal clear. ❞ There are many TVs, at all sorts of prices, which make us suggest you buy a soundbar. The Hisense A6G is a TV that makes us shout ‘BUY A SOUNDBAR’ at the tops of our voices. It’s fitted with an audio system of two full-range drivers powered by a total of 16 watts - and while Hisense may have been shooting for ‘smooth and inoffensive’ it’s actually ended up with ‘bland and uninvolving’.

These physical inputs are complemented by Wi-Fi connectivity, and it’s possible to get audio out of the screen using its digital optical or analogue 3.5mm outputs – that’s in addition to the integrated two-driver audio system, of course. Materials” collectively means any Content, Submitted Content (where applicable and as further defined herein), messaging, blogging, chatting, social networking, information, advertising and/or internet links, etc., accessible or delivered through the Device.

As an upscaler, the Hisense is reasonably adept with 1080p content and all at sea with anything less information-rich. Taking a Full HD image and making it fit the screen doesn’t impact too badly on detail levels or colour fidelity, and motion remains admirably smooth and stable too. But edges can get a bit restless, and the depth of field that is at such a premium with 4K stuff disappears altogether. But taking some DVD-borne information, say, or (worst-case scenario) some daytime TV broadcasts gives the A6G what used to be called ‘the vapours’. Detail levels fall off a cliff, to be replaced by ambiguity and noisiness. Few are the televisions capable of making pictures look simultaneously soft and edgy, but the Hisense 55A6G is one of them. Audio performance Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output The A6G offers plenty of curb appeal for the cash. It’s neatly turned out, with Dolby Vision HDR on hand to make the most of apps on the brand’s useful Vidaa 5.0 streaming platform. While the Hisense 55A6BGTUK offers decent sound quality, it may need to match the performance of dedicated sound systems. The built-in speakers produce clear audio, but for a more immersive experience, connecting external speakers or a soundbar is recommended. The TV supports various audio formats and offers customization options to adjust the sound. Remote Control Connected smarts can be considered rather good. The A6G uses the latest version of Hisense’s own Vidaa smart platform, which is primarily designed to host streaming services. A quad-core processor keeps navigation reasonably responsive.A very good TV. I got this 50A6BGTUK looks good and it works very good, all I wanted, was a better TV for front room. Thank you ❞
