About this deal

And 2021 is no different, as the Chinese company wheels out a dazzling array of fresh options from entry-level 4Ks to Laser TVs. This year also sees Hisense make a return to the realm of OLED with the new A9G model, while all models save for the entry-level options come with quantum dot technology, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Imax Enhanced certification. That’s it for the 2022 Hisense TV models announced so far. Below are the 2021 models that are still on sale online and in-store. Hisense TV 2021 U9GQ With a Netflix-derived 4K Dolby Vision stream of Enola Holmes up and running, there are obvious and numerous positives to the way the Hisense goes about its work. Detail levels, for example, are respectably high - and that’s true of even the finest details of texture or skin-tone. There’s very agreeable insight into darker tones, without the rather artificial cast some screens can succumb to when trying to eke out the minutiae from dimly lit scenes. Despite being a mid-range TV, Hisense promises best-in-class overall video and audio from the U7HQ. This model supports all HDR formats and boasts a wide colour range. There’s also a game mode for PC and console users. More expensive TVs hoping for a picture horror show from the 43A6GTUK should brace for disappointment. The set is actually anything but a video nasty, producing pictures that in some ways humble those of some much more expensive models.

Connected smarts can be considered rather good. The A6G uses the latest version of Hisense’s own Vidaa smart platform, which is primarily designed to host streaming services. A quad-core processor keeps navigation reasonably responsive. To the extent permitted by law, this EULA shall be governed by the laws of the Germany and by accepting this EULA, and by your use of the Smart Services, you are agreeing that such EULA and all other aspects of the Smart Services will be construed in all respects in accordance with the laws of the Germany, and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dusseldorf, Germany. Hisense has included Dolby Vision support, and it’s with less capable displays like the A6G’s that the format’s dynamic metadata really shows its benefits. It allows HDR content to be mapped more precisely to the display’s capabilities, and watching exactly the same test material in Dolby Vision reveals HDR images free of any clipping and with saturated but natural-looking colours. The E76GQ is the second mid-range TV from Hisense. The display features similar specs to the A7GQ and despite not supporting HDMI 2.1, it does support VRR, but seemingly only up to 60Hz. We’re looking to confirm this with Hisense. The EULA for the use of such Smart Services may differ for each different country, region or market, and are subject to relevant local, country and regional laws and regulations. All Smart Services are provided solely for your personal use in connection with your use of the Device. You may not use any Smart Services in a manner that has not been expressly authorized herein. This is hardly unusual for the TV world, though, and impacts many sets that cost way more than the 43A6GTUK does.

As an upscaler, the Hisense is reasonably adept with 1080p content and all at sea with anything less information-rich. Taking a Full HD image and making it fit the screen doesn’t impact too badly on detail levels or colour fidelity, and motion remains admirably smooth and stable too. But edges can get a bit restless, and the depth of field that is at such a premium with 4K stuff disappears altogether. But taking some DVD-borne information, say, or (worst-case scenario) some daytime TV broadcasts gives the A6G what used to be called ‘the vapours’. Detail levels fall off a cliff, to be replaced by ambiguity and noisiness. Few are the televisions capable of making pictures look simultaneously soft and edgy, but the Hisense 55A6G is one of them. Audio performance While the Hisense A6G is a solid performer with SDR, it’s more of a mixed bag when it comes to HDR. For a start, it’s very dim for an HDR TV, with a peak brightness of around 300cd/m² on both a 10% window and full-field in Dynamic mode. In the more accurate Cinema mode, this luminance drops to 250cd/m² on both a 10% and a full-field pattern. Other key features include Quantum Dot Colour, HDR10+ support, IMAX Enhanced licensing and an audiovisual boost from Dolby Vision and Atmos technologies. Hisense TV 2022 U8HQ If the appliance has been stood upright during transit you can switch it on immediately. Ask your driver if it has been loaded on its side, if this is this case, we would suggest waiting 12 hours. Press the home button on your remote controller and go into Apps or ‘View my Apps’. Within the App Store, you can then search and browse the latest apps for your TV.

Knowing and working within its limitations also helps the 43A6GTUK avoid sounding too harsh through the treble region during densely mixed scenes, and it even delivers a mild Dolby Atmos benefit in the shape of a respectable amount of extra ‘throw’ to the left and right of the screen when an Atmos source is detected.

Add to this some decent shadow detail retention in the darkest image corners and you’ve got dark scenes that don’t instantly and distractingly look like some poor relation to bright scenes. This level of consistency is enough in itself to embarrass an uncomfortable number of more expensive TVs. If you’re looking to upgrade your TV to a model with modern features and stunning image quality, look no further than the Hisense 43A6BGTUK.
