About this deal

There's been an explosion at the University, a mysterious test creature is missing and no one is allowed in or out of the town. On top of this Lance has lost touch with his friends since starting at his new school. And now his mum has been acting strangely since they started decorating the Christmas tree... As he goes door to door trying to reunite his team, Lance realises how bad things have got. Now he, Katja, Max, Chets and Ade, plus new friend Karim, must think bigger and bolder if they are to save their families. But there's something else out there too - something straight out of their nightmares... Author Luke Palmer introduces his new book, Play (Firefly Press) about four boys growing up together, the challenges, the friendships, and what hap... This inaugural stay at Crater Lake is going to be a fight for survival between a bunch of mismatched teens and a swarm of unexpected enemies. As per the first book, the words ‘DON’T, EVER, FALL ASLEEP’ are emblazoned across the front cover and this is a warning I strongly suggest you heed. Probably best to avoid the tomato soup too.

Enjoy a fabulousdinner while taking in the views of Crater Lake in the dining room at Crater Lake Lodge. The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and features a relaxing atmosphere and alarge stone fireplace. On their way to Crater Lake, they came to a sudden halt followed by a crunch. The coach had hit someone. Then a guy came up to the side of the bus and “SPLAT” his bright red bloody hand thumped against the side of the window. He shouted “DON’T GO TO CRATER LAKE!” The children couldn’t understand what was wrong with it. Education Shed Ltd, Severn House, Severn Bridge, Riverside North, Bewdley, Worcestershire, UK, DY12 1AB After our ‘girlie’ book last month I was determined to choose something totally different this month. Cue Crater Lake a horror/thriller style book with Lance ‘Fang’ at the centre. I was flying solo this month with no actual hands on book club. The comments below are therefore mine and mine only as a 38 year old woman, not as an 11 boy which the story is more probably aimed at. Are we in America?Montmorency School’s Form Six students are fortunate to be the first school party to spend a few days at Crater Lake. Or are they?

Not a bad sequel! I don't know if it's just my mood but I enjoyed the first book more. This was still good though and funny, many great moments! Welcome to Crater Lake, a newly opened leisure and activity centre far, far away from anywhere, deep in the English countryside. This innovative facility has been built in remote woodland in a crater formed when a meteor hit Earth millennia ago.The plot has really clever little twists and the sci-fi element is true to its roots – there’s real science referencing in this book; prepare to become an amateur entomologist. Also be prepared to be disgusted by that. Crater Lake is a fast-paced, high action read full of suspense, scares, twists and turns. Alongside the action, there’s witty dialogue and a strong message about staying loyal to your friends and how to stand up for yourself against bullies, whether they’re mean kids, monstrous teachers – or even body-snatching aliens. Immensely enjoyable; light and dark perfectly balanced. I would recommend this book to multiple of my friends in and out of school and really enjoyed being able to read such a great book. The reason being it had me gripped and every sentence was leaving me hooked and I couldn't put it down. I am really enjoying this book so far. It is full of adventures and also some really creepy things happen. The two main characters have been rivals for over a year but now they must work together if they are going to save their class mates. It is fast paced and it makes the reader wonder what will happen next. i dont like reading but i enjoyed this book, it was exciting from the beginning because it got straight into the story and made me want to keep reading. Don’t fall asleep we are told, don’t fall asleep they are told – you just can’t fall asleep! You want to keep reading until the end. I don’t know,’ I say. ‘But, to use the words of every great Star Wars hero, I have a really bad feeling about this.’ There are three rules for surviving Crater Lake: don’t go anywhere with an adult; don’t follow any instructions you’re given; and don’t ever fall asleep…Let’s just pretend like everything’s normal. Our only advantage is that they think we don’t know what’s going on.’ So far I really like this book because there were two students who were enemy's, but now they are working together and I really like that idea. Who is the mysterious bloodstained man who stops their coach? Why is no one around when Lance and the rest of Year Six arrive at the brand new Crater Lake activity centre? But this is just the beginning of the school trip from hell; a fight for survival that sees five pupils band together to save their classmates from an alien fate far worse than death. But whatever happens, they must Never. Ever. Fall asleep! Flying solo The book is is a mixture of horror, thriller and sci-fi. Did you like the style? Did it make you scared? Have you read books like this previously? Would you read one again? I'm only on chapter 6 of the book but already I'm finding it really interesting and I don't want to put it down I think so far it is a great book and I highly recommend it.
