About this deal

Remove both safety pins and pull both elastic tails as far out from the fabric of the scrunchie as possible. Fold the fabric in half and pin to hold in place. Sew along the pinned edge 3″ (8cm)with a 1/4 inch seam allowance then stop sewing and leave a small opening about 2″ (5cm) wide. I’m a wife, mother to 3, seamstress, and lover of all things crafty! Sweet Red Poppy is my creative outlet where I find and create inspiration. It’s a place where I can share my never-ending sewing projects and my love of learning!

Thread the elastic through the scrunchie, holding both ends so it begins to gather up the fabric. Pin both ends of the elastic together. Sew these together with a few rows of stitching to secure on place. With Right Sides Together (RST), fold the pattern pieces in half lengthwise and match the raw edges. Stitch across the entire length of the scrunchie pattern. Now, turn the fabric tube right side out using a safety pin - attach it to one end and guide the safety pin through - just like you do it when threading elastic through a casing. STEP 7 – Add Elastic and CloseFold the scrunchie piece in half lengthwise. Pin along the long edge to hold it in place for sewing. Sew together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance to create a tube.

Step 1: Cut 1 piece from the scarf pattern. Take care to arrange the pattern piece on a twice-folded piece of fabric, as described in the template PDF. (You should have 2 folds, and thus four layers of fabric. The unfolded piece looks like a long, skinny oval.)Decide which of these you want and cut two pieces from: knot bow / mini knot bow / scarf /bunny ears. Cut two pieces from your fabric. Tie the extra piece onto the main scrunchie piece, making a simple knot. Done! And one more option: Classic Bow Scrunchie Heavier fabrics like velvet look expensive and sophisticated. But they can be a bit harder to sew because the pile makes them slip around underneath the sewing machine’s presser foot. Women Girl Hair Ties Elastic Bands Camellia Plaid Flower Floral Pearl Bow Knot Scrunchies Korean Head Accessories If you’re a beginner, I recommend starting with cotton, since it’s one of the easier materials to sew.It only takes sewing an extra-long tube of fabric, and a straight stitch. So easy and what you get is a beautiful classic look! Like above with all the other scrunchies, first, make the main piece. Then it's time for the classic bow part. It's so easy! Because you'll only sew a strip of fabric: Place the two bow pieces right sides together and stitch around all sides with ¼” seam allowance. Leave an inch or so to turn right side out. Turn under ¼” on one of the open ends of your fabric tube. Then, slip the other end of the tube inside, overlapping by ¼” or so. Fold it right sides together lengthwise and sew from each narrow end towards the middle of the strip. Leave a 3" gap in the middle for turning.
