I just thought I would mention a system which suits me as I don’t have a water supply in my studio. It wouldn’t work for everyone, but I just use 2 or possibly 3 brushes and wipe them on kitchen roll between changes of colour. I don’t wash the brushes for days or weeks, but keep them wrapped up in the plastic that canvases come wrapped in. The kitchen roll can be reused multiple times once dry and any palettes can be reused and then peeled off when they are overflowing. It also works for priming brushes, though the brushes keep slightly better with clear gesso rather than white. It has to be canvas wrap not wood panel wrap, that isn’t so good. Not for everyone, but it works for me and I hate cleaning brushes! It is a good idea, especially for younger children, to wear an apron to guard against any paint getting on their clothes as once the paint is dry it will be permanent.
