About this deal

I've just had my ram RMA approved so see if that fixes the issue, if not then I'll go through reseat and AIO fitting and see if that resolves it before looking at mobo RMA (how Jay solved it).

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D Twelve Core 5.60GHz (Socket AM5 - OcUK

It is a compromise chip. must have the 6 ccd cpus out there are. But it’s not just a one ccd. It’s two and I’ve seen, during the very limited gaming I’ve been able to do, games are on the cache cores with windows and other apps on the none cache. For me, that is ideal.

current little discount tipped me over the edge and i have a 7900x3d for my new build. Building this weeknd There's very little that we can fault the Raptor Lake flagship on with its performance. That's due to the excellent Raptor Cove and Gracemont cores with its hybrid architecture that makes it a processor that's difficult to beat outside of its expensive price point. The register can be accessed through http://www.fca.org.uk Just google "AM5 DDR5 stabililty" and append any brand after that and all will be revealed (hint, it's not brand specific!).. Problem 2 - The Design: Due to the design of the chip only having the 3D v-cache on one of the two CCDs, core parking during gaming workloads is applied, meaning 6 cores and 6 threads are deactivated so you're only utilising the 6 cores and 6 threads that hold the 3D v-cache while gaming. When the 7800X3D launches that CPU only have 1 CCD which holds all the 3D v-cache meaning all 8 cores will be available during gaming.

Ah yeah I had kind of forgot how the chips differ in regards to CCD - so effectively you get more cores running but at a slower speed on the 7800 - so any cpu-limited games should in theory perform better on the 7800 than the 7900? And price. It was partly due to the price decrease that I went for it. It’s now, in my eye, significantly cheaper than the 7950X3D and I suspect not that far away from the 7800X3D. AMD’s CES keynote highlighted the continued innovations the firm is set to utilize in 2023, the most prominent among them being the upgrading of its 3D V-cache technology, which will be implemented in three new chips. It’s not far off, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D release date will be February 28th.

So am I right in saying that the 7900X3D is 12 cores, but in games it will utilize cores assigned with X3DVcache? So CCD 0 6 cores X3DVcache. CCD 1 6 standard cores? It’s just what decides what is a game and therefore what chip to use. It’s not got in my way at all, but I do wish it just worked without it. It’s not needed on the 7800x 3d because it’s just the 3d so just running as normal. The 7950x 3d is sort of like two in one, which sort of complicates things hence the gamebar. The much-anticipated Ryzen 9 7900X3D was first unveiled only recently amid CES 2023, wherein some of the most mind-bending new technologies gain traction and become icons in the fold. As for the Ryzen 9 7900X3D release date, little was known until now. I tested the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D inside of a newly built machine utilizing Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia RTX 4090, and a brand new RM1000X PSU. The chip was utilized heavily for gaming in the benchmarked titles as well as in games such as Mortal Kombat 11, Cyberpunk 2077, and Tekken 7.
