The change in the pitch of sound was due to the Doppler effect. When the bomb is dropped from the airplane, the velocity of the bomb goes on increasing due to gravity until it reaches its terminal velocity. As the bomb approaches towards the ground, the pitch increases and thus the “kooouuuueeee” sound. Does it make sense but? The container illustrated in Figure 44, marked "Mark 250-LK; 41 Weiss" carries 41 flares of type (v). Parachute mines dropped on land in this country so far have been of two types. Figures 21 and 22 show the smaller or D" type, and Figure 23 the larger or "C" type. (See top of Figure 77.)Some historians and soldiers argue that the whistling was intended to warn civilians of the coming danger, so they could have time to take cover or run away, but that theory falls apart when you look at the physics of such a sound. It would be nearly impossible to tell what direction the bomb was coming from by the wail alone, so it could be headed straight for you, or might land 120 yards away. Furthermore, those bomb flight times would be relatively short, so even if you did hear the wailing cry of a falling bomb, you would have very little time to react or “run away”. The whistle may have given enough warning to cover could be taken, or you could fall to the ground and cover your head, but that’s about it. iv) Another small type enclosed in an alloy casing about 1 ft. 6 in.long and 3½ in. diameter, with a sheet steel cap at the upper end, and stamped in yellow or green lettering: "70 Eisfeld Dez" 1937 (see Figure 59). Pink Floyd, The Wall uses the sound. Pink's father is killed by a bomb from a dive bomber. Since the plane dropping the bomb was an Axis plane during World War II, it might actually have been a Stuka. Two types of German leaflet-carrying balloons have been found so far, one khaki and the other silver, but apart from colour they appear identical. As will be seen from the illustration (Figure 62), they are in the form of a vertical cylinder with rounded ends, and measure when deflated about 16 ft. by 13 ft. They are made of rubberised fabric The most common type of flame float is the cylindrical wooden body fitted with a metal nose and tail fin assembly. It is 13 in. long overall, 3 in. diameter, and contains a flare composition.

Fragments of bakelised material will, however, generally indicate its presence as, so far, fins of this material have not been observed on other German bombs, and the tail cover dome, which is of unusual shape, may be found broken off by impact. diameter, fitted with four fins.
