About this deal

When weaning your little one, making multiple meals every day can be a faff and really time-consuming. Step forward What Mummy Makes by Rebecca Wilson. This cookbook is crammed full of 130 recipes that allow you to wean your baby and feed your family at the same time by cooking just one meal. All of the recipes can be made in under 30 minutes, and are easy to adapt for different ages and dietary requirements too.' That's Life! Follow the What Mummy Makes method and you'll find weaning can be a delicious breeze for the whole family. Wilson claims to be giving one easy to follow guide to baby nutrition instead of the chaos of conflicting info online, but sometimes her advice itself contradicts what seems to be consensus (eg. she says not to introduce eggs until 10 months, where others usually say to start them as early as possible to reduce the risk of allergies). And frustratingly for a book full of health and nutritional science, she doesn't cite a single source. Nowhere does she where she's pulled these claims from. Let Rebecca Wilson, mum and founder of the What Mummy Makes food channel, show you how to cook a week's worth of simple, healthy and tasty meals to wean your baby from 6 months while feeding the rest of the family, too. Lovely looking book. Recipes are useful especially if you’re not a keen cook. A few good ideas we’ll use but most are recipes that I already make another version of (but that’s not the purpose for buying the book). Rebecca's recipes are fresh, accessible, nutritious and made with the whole family in mind; you can cook just one meal for everyone, adults and children alike. Now, with this family meal planner, Rebecca aims to help mealtimes become even easier and take the stress out of feeding your family. Rebecca Wilson is a mum, trained peer-to-peer breastfeeding coach and has harnessed huge attention in just a matter of months by sharing her simple, honest and first-hand advice about weaning her own daughter, Nina.It would be nice for Rebecca to do some healthier recipes in her next book which I think will be released soon. That being said I have made just about every recipe in this book & they go down well with my son & myself.

Let Rebecca Wilson, the mum behind @rebeccawilsonfood show you how to cook a week's worth of simple, healthy and tasty meals to wean your baby from 6 months while feeding the rest of the family, too.The recipes are OK but my little one was much more enthusiastic about the ones in the first full recipe book (maybe coincidence).

Recipes we love: Carrot Cake Porridge, Cheesy Broccoli Orzo, Spinach and Ricotta Puff Parcels, and Creamy Mango and Raspberry Ice Lollies. Wean your baby and feed your family at the same time by cooking just one meal in under 30 minutes that everyone will enjoy! Great cook book but half of it is blank meal planning grids & blank shopping lists. Would have been better if they were pull-outs which you could photo copy like in similar cook books. Say goodbye to cooking multiple meals every day and the nuisances of making special little spoonfuls for your baby, plainer dishes for fussy older siblings, and something different again for the grown-ups.For me and my 18 month old I wasn't overly impressed with this one sadly, it feels like it was rushed by the publishers for the Christmas market after the success of the first book. If I'd have had it straight from when we first started weaning it would have been prefect though because I love the idea of 100 tried foods list. Some of the recipes didn't work for me because the ingredient quantities or cooking times were a little off (especially where there were things like banana involved which can vary in size). I also don't think it's that healthy either and find myself adding extra veg to a lot of the recipes. Some great recipes in here and great ideas for BLW. I found it great for inspiration and making me actually want to cook for little one. The recipes seem to be aimed at the busy mum for example porridge fingers done in the microwave. I chose some of the time to wing it and change the recipes so they were nicer so things like cooking the porridge fingers in the oven. I suppose you can serve extra veg with the dishes to get up to the recommended 8 a day but I like to have as many veg included in the meals as poss to make sure they get eaten 😏 Includes 28 simple recipes for weaning your baby - all suitable from 6 months old - with the foods you and your family love to eat, too!

simple recipes, all suitable from 6 months old, for weaning your baby with the foods you and your family love to eat too!

As someone with a love of cooking, I was excited to one day soon cook for our baby, so I was excited to read this book (leaving aside the title, which does feel a *little* weird being a dad who does all cooking). There are definitely some good recipes and ideas in here, but there's a lot that's just a bit concerning. Pour the mug of rice into a saucepan. Fill the same mug up twice with boiling water from the kettle and add to the rice. Place the saucepan over a high heat and bring it to the boil, then put the lid on, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 12 minutes. Don’t take the lid off until the time is up. Say goodbye to cooking multiple meals every day and the faff of making special little spoonfuls for your baby, plainer dishes for fussy older siblings, and something different again for the grown-ups.
