Perhaps the apostles for the Trinity crash story will observe that Remigio Baca is now dead and cannot respond to my findings – but then, neither can the long-deceased Officer Eddie Apodaca or the long-deceased Governor Dixy Lee Ray now confront Baca or Padilla about the lies that the hoaxers told about them– lies that Jacques Vallee and Paola Harris believed all too readily, and have spread far and wide. It is also a case where at least two of the witnesses claimed to have seen strange, humanoid occupants inside the downed craft, occupants that later disappeared, seemingly into the Texas wilderness. Beneath the vast blue skies of New Mexico lies a tale less trodden but equally captivating as its famous Roswell counterpart: the Aztec UFO crash of 1948. While Roswell might dominate extraterrestrial discourse, the Aztec incident presents its own intricate web of mysteries, testimonies, and contradicting narratives.The UFO crash allegedly happened the same year as Project Trinity, and in the same desert location. Whether or not that is so, at the time the final bill was released I publicly welcomed the date change, although I also made it clear that my reasoning was not based on the claims set forth in the Vallee-Harris book (regarding which I was manifestly unimpressed when I read the First Edition in July 2021).
