About this deal

Also released this month were the final two stories in the Girls FC series by Helena Pielichaty. Do Shinpads Come in Pink? follows Amy as she struggles to be taken seriously by the Parrs. Here We Go! is all about changes: changes to the team, a change of coach, and ultimately Megan’s decisions about her future. Fans of the series will be glad to see it rounded off so well – and for those who haven’t been reading along, what better time to start? Middle School

It sounds like you had a very eventful time, Tom! Excellent work. I felt like I was there . . . but glad I wasn’t! Merit Points 28 SNOring — and th at was keeping me awake too. The noise was awful. It seemed to be getting louder and LOUDER. It was almost like thunder, deep and rumbly. Then I realized it sounded like thunder . . . b e c au s e it wa s th under. W h i c h was getting clos e r. T he re wa s l ightn i n g too, and really heavy rain that was right above our tent. The storm was HUGE, and it didn’t take long for t h e te nt to b l ow away . AGH ! HELP! E veryone had to run to the car for cove r. T he s to rm la s ted a l l n ight long and everything we had got wet and muddy. Dad had pitched the tent RIGHT NEXT TO A STREAM! It flooded and all our stuff got soaked. Nobody slept at all. It was miserable. 21

Tom Gates is Absolutely Fantastic' follows our lively and young protagonist Tom. This time the novel centres mostly around his school excursion or "School Activity Trip" which, because he is so forgetful, our dear Tom almost misses out on. It was a nice little novel that I laughed at many times. Some of the most annoying characters return in this novel such as the despicable and arrogant Marcus and the face-pulling new girl-next-door. Delia surprises Tom in this novel as she does him a great big favour which enables him to succeed in a competition which really surprises out main lead. Highly recommended for middle-grade and children audience. ven though I only live four minutes away from my school, I’m often late. Sometimes it’s because we get distracted by delicious fruit chews and caramel wafers at the shop. Occasionally, it’s because I’ve had loads of other very important things to do. 2 This year, Dad said, “Let’s go camping, it’s cheap.” Mom didn’t seem that keen, but I’d never been camping before, so I was looking forward to it. Dad and I went to the camping shop to buy a few essential items like: \"W e won’t need much,” 1. Tent he said. Dad 2. Sleeping bags 3. Cooking stuff 4. Fishing rods 5. TV 6. Computer But the camping shop had some cool stuff, LOTand Dad got carried away. He spent a of money and made me promise not to tell Mom. “We could have stayed in a nice hotel; it would have been cheaper,” Dad said. “Not the same as sleeping under the stars and waking up in the fresh air!” said the man in the shop as he took Dad’s m o n ey . 16

Eventually she got Mom. 24 To add the cherry on top of the cake, the books also promote consumerism and an unhealthy lifestyle. Big TVs, new clothes, BIG disco parties, high sugar food and drinks are always shown as desirable and even necessary. DL eOd iAc aDt eSd to of lovely people Mark Zak Ella Lily Thanks to Sarah S. (He’s so annoying.) I show Mom and Dad my story because I think they’ll be pleased with me (for a change). 30I initially thought of giving these books two starts, but I think one star really is showing the reality of these books much better. Do not bother.
