About this deal

Thrybergh Country Park is accessible by car from the A630 Doncaster Road between Thrybergh and Hooton Roberts. There is a bus stop immediately outside the main entrance to the park on the A630 [8] and a pay and display car park within the park. Thrybergh has many schools, including Thrybergh Academy, Thrybergh Primary, Foljambe Primary, St Gerards Catholic Primary, and Thrybergh Fullerton Primary.

If you would rather spend the day trying new activities, then you can head down to Rotherham and enjoy many activity centres including a roller-skating rink and inflatable obstacle courses. From here you could head to Parkgate Shopping Centre and enjoy a spot of shopping or enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants in the area. Today the country park provides an important habitat for birds and other wildlife. Over 155 species of birds have been recorded as well as 20 species of mammals and 170 species of plants. [3] It is popular with anglers (fly fishing) during the summer and walkers all year round. There are level footpaths that provide a circular route around the reservoir, and these are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. [4] The park is home to Rotherham Golf Course, which, in the past used to hold famous tournaments. Par for the 6,327-yard (5,785m) course is 70. Simon Coumbe of Pontefract Golf Club holds the course record with a score of 62, which he achieved in September 2005 during the second round of the inaugural Lee Westwood Trophy. He broke the previous record of 65, which was held jointly by Lee Westwood and Ian Garbutt. [9] Wood, David (February 2011). "Field trip report – Thrybergh CP Jan 2010" (PDF). We have a nice ice cream in the shop at the end and they even had vegan ice cream which I was very happily surprised about. He asked for a small tub so we could give our dogs a drink to be told rudely No and that they were to expensive!

If you increased the cost of parking slightly it would cover the cost of making the path safe all the way round. We allow swimmers to swim in wetsuits and ‘skins’ (i.e. just your swimming costume) but you must be able to demonstrate your swim competence and experience. All swimmers will be asked to swim a test route before being allowed onto the longer course. The Met Office issues warnings for rain, thunderstorms, wind, snow, lightning, ice, extreme heat and fog. These warnings are given a colour depending on a combination of both the impact the weather may have and the likelihood of those impacts occurring.Thrybergh – which is mentioned in the Domesday Book – was given to William de Perci, [3] a chief aide to William the Conqueror and founder of the well-known Percy family, after the Norman conquest of England in 1066. All swimmers MUST wear a bright swim cap so our safety team can easily sport you – ORANGE, BRIGHT GREEN, or YELLOW. (White caps are not good as they often look like waves on the lake!) Many people in public life and the world of entertainment have come from Thrybergh, or live there. These include: The estate was passed on to the Normainvilles around the year 1200, and it remained with them until 1316, when Sir Adam Reresby became Lord of Thrybergh.
