The 10 yo is still my favourite of the lot, but this Storm is not far behind.Talisker 10 year old whisky is regarded a a superior whisky due to its greater complexity and age. The Talisker Storm and Talisker Skye are two highly acclaimed single malts, each stemming from the distillery’s famous 10 year old expression. Each has its own unique character and flavour profile, making them both popular choices for whisky connoisseurs.I’m not sure what “part of the quote” I “cropped” but, then again, I’m not sure who assumed Storm was really just the 10 with no age statement and the use of (some) re-charred ex-bourbon casks anyway. The spirit is most frequently matured in American oak casks. The malt is peated to a phenol level of approximately 18–22 parts per million (ppm), which is a medium peating level. Additionally, the water used for production, from Cnoc nan Speireag (Hawk Hill), flows over peat which adds additional complexity to the whisky.
