About this deal

This is a great mix of armies and options to choose from. For the most part, snagging any of these is a fantastic starting point for a new army or a great way to expand an existing one. For lots of these options you could simply get this box, maybe a Vanguard Box, and the Battletome and you’d basically have a 2000 point army ready to go. Just add water(…to your paints to thin them).

Tool up your MKVI Tactical Space Marineswith thematic helmets, heads, and shoulder pads hung with the grisly trophies and macabre imageryof the Night Lords. Iron Hands MKVI Legion Upgrades Thunderstrike Armour is the number-one fashion choice amongst the ranks of the Stormcast Eternals right now. This Battleforce contains 26 miniatures, all clad in dashing metal suits, including two mighty Stormdrake Guard on their draconith steeds.* Battleforce: Sylvaneth – Revenant Wargrove The Sylvaneth wage war against the enemies of nature, but none are so cruel in their hunts as the Outcasts. These spirits are commanded by the monstrous Drycha Hamadreth, who is joined by 28 other miniatures hungry for the blood of those who transgress against Alarielle. Curseling, Eye of Tzeentch Break out the marshmallows – the Horns of Hashutare coming. This warband was first available in Warcry: Heart of Ghur and comprises 10 miniatures, including Ruinators, Demolishers – one of whom is armed with the deadly Flamehurler – and Shatterers. They’re also usable in Slaves to Darknessarmies for Warhammer Age of Sigmar.** Rotmire CreedTame a monster or two and add some spice to the battlefield with ferocious fauna – the Chaotic Beasts, Fomoroid Crusher, Mindstealer Sphiranx, and Ogroid Myrmidon are all being re-released. These creatures are all usable in both Warcry and Slaves to Darkness armies – the Ogroid Myrmidon in particular makes the perfect leader for your new Ogroid Theridons. Warcry Dice There are loads more rules included too, with another warscroll battalion, the Moon-biter Squigalanche (complete with points values for using them in matched play), Jaws of Mork command abilities and more. Cool, huh?

This Daughters of Khaine battleforce is literally a bit of a mixed bag. There’s a bit of everything going on, which is either a good think of bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. The value of this one is going to be in the eye of the beholder. Planning a DoK specialist army? probably not for you. Prefer a generalist force? This could well be the foundation you’re after. With the new battletome how good is the battleforce for someone brand new to the faction? Is it still a valid army out of the box? This Sylvaneth Battleforce might actually be a contender for easiest to paint. You get Drycha Hamadrath stomping into battle alongside two Treelords (they can be the Spirit Of Durthu or a Treelord Ancient). There are also ten Spite-Revenants (Tree-Revenants) and sixteen Sylvaneth Dryads. Rush forward and drown your foes under an avalanche of spiked roots and rage.Writer, Editor, Texas Native, and Austinite for 15+ years, Adam covers all things Tabletop Gaming. Thunderstrike Armour is the number-one fashion choice amongst the ranks of the Stormcast Eternals right now. This Battleforce contains 26 miniatures, all clad in dashing metal suits, including two mighty Stormdrake Guardon their draconith steeds.* Battleforce: Sylvaneth – Revenant Wargrove White Dwarf issues 320 and 321 get added to the Warhammer Vault this week – perfect reading with a hot beverage. Now we end the list with the low point of the christmas battleforces. The Stromdrakes and Annihilators are both tempting, but there are much better options in the Stormcast range than the other models on this list. Despite the savings I’d give this one a miss, buy the decent units separately and spend the remaining money on more competitive models. So what do you get inside and how much would it cost you normally? I’ve also included the points for the troops as sold, but you can make small changes with the way some of the models are built. It's always an excellent service with brilliant products at a very competitive price - will use again! The new plastic Curseling was originally available in the Arcane Cataclysm boxed set, facing down the learned Lumineth. They arrive solo next week – or at least as solo as this mighty warrior-wizard can be, given the spell-slinging Tretchlet that sprouts from their side. Scinari Enlightener

The heavy lifting of this box is done by it’s two big bosses, and the Gutrippaz and Boltboyz are some nice bonuses. It feels like Games Workshop’s marketing team might have been involved in the planning of this one, because the units here compliment the Kruleboyz half of dominion pretty ideally. If you’re looking to start a Kruleboyz army then our advice is to use the money you save on this box to buy the Dominion minis off someone who’s not interested in them.
