It does have its good points though . Winstone is a fairly limited actor but he`s made a career out of playing rough diamond geezers something he excels at . Ben Kingsley is excellent as Logan , a role for which he received an Oscar nod , but perhaps the best performance - Certainly the most understated - is Ian McShane as Teddy Bass .
After his international fame for appearing in Gandhi (1982), Kingsley appeared in many other famous movies. His success as an actor continued. His performance as Itzhak Stern in the drama movie Schindler's List (1993) earned him a BAFTA nomination for best supporting actor. Schindler's List (1993) won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. During the late 1990s, Kingsley acted in many successful movies. He played Sweeney Todd in the television movie The Tale of Sweeney Todd (1997), for which he was nominated for the Screen Actors' Guild Award. His other notable role was as Otto Frank in the television movie Anne Frank: The Whole Story (2001), for which he won the Screen Actors' Guild Award. I first thing I noticed about SEXY BEAST was that Ray Winstone`s character is called Gal . I actually know someone called Gal in real life , she`s an Israeli so I wondered why the anti hero in this film has an Israeli girls name when he`s a bloke from London ! I was futher confused why SEXY BEAST has several surreal sequences like a demon tooled up with an uzi approaching Gal`s dinner table . No doubt more pretentious reviewers will discuss the meaning behind these scenes but that`s not really the point - the scenes are distracting and don`t add anything . But my abiding memory of SEXY BEAST is the character interaction between Gal and Don Logan , it`s like something out of THE FAST SHOW , can`t you just imagine Simon Day or Paul Whitehouse playing a retired gangster working in a hotel as a waiter ? " Tea or coffee you f***in` c*** , the continental or english breakfast you f***in` c*** , cash or cheque you f***in` c*** , I f***ed your wife you f***in` c*** SEXY BEAST is a crime movie with a twist. It's got everything you'd want and expect from a British crime thriller, including some of the genre's most memorable faces from the era, plus a whole lot more.Now I think it's one of the best flashy, profane, creative and well written, British or not, heist movies made. Netflix has really cornered the market on ridiculous dating shows. Sexy Beasts is the latest such series, following a trail blazed by Too Hot to Handle and Love Is Blind. But Sexy Beasts is definitely weirder than both of those shows, because this dating show covers the face of every potential BF and GF with upsettingly realistic animal/creature makeup and prosthetics. Have you ever wanted to see a devil make out with a mandrill? Or a beaver talk about how much he likes big butts? Sexy Beasts is the show for you! And also…very specific demands you’ve been making of your Netflix shows. I’m glad Sexy Beasts is here for you. The film was shot in London and Spain in the summer of 1999. Ray Winstone travelled to Spain two weeks before filming commenced to get as deep a tan as he could in the time possible and to eat as much as he could to bulk up considerably. He called it "the best rehearsal time I've ever had in my life". [4] Winstone had originally been considered for the role of Don, along with Anthony Hopkins. [5] This seems to come from the gangland era of Brinks-Mat rather than 2001: it's no hi-tech cyber-scam and no one has a laptop computer in this film. But Glazer carries it off by making it a virtual dream sequence: tunnelling in from a private health club swimming pool and flooding the strong room gives the whole thing a Dali-esque quality.

Well, I have really begun to like this film a lot, equally, if not more, than "Snatch."
