About this deal

The idea is good, and it looks like the overall build quality of the controller isn’t bad either, but I read about people forced to disconnect and reconnect a part once in a while otherwise it would stop working properly. The Razer Wolverine V2 is the latest controller made by Razer. I do not recommend it because it costs almost as much as the Tournament and Ultimate Edition, but it has fewer features and some issues. The Razer Synapse software also lets you assign and store profiles to the controller for your favorite games, something that PC gamers are used to with high-end gaming mice. Razer Wolverine Ultimate – pricey, but worth it (for some)

That said, I want to point out that while the old Xbox controllers were quite reliable in the long run (my 360 and Xbox One controllers lasted for almost 5 years each), these new ones seem to have a worse build quality. The Razer Wolverine V2 is the Xbox Series X and S controller with only the most essential of features for your average console gamer. If you're looking for the more extravagant features, Razer's two other higher-level controllers have you covered – with LED lights, too! The Wolverine can be programmed in part using its physical controls, but to get the most out of it you’ll have to use Razer’s Synapse software. Synapse is available on PC and Xbox One, and offers a pretty much identical set of features on both platforms – although the PC version has a slightly more intuitive UI. Weighing in at 260 grams (0.57lbs) the Wolverine is significantly lighter than the Xbox Elite controller with batteries (348 grams or 0.77lbs). While heavier weight is often associated with a more premium feel, I'd argue that a lighter controller after a few hours is easier to use.

Make no mistake, when it comes to performance the Razer Wolverine is the mechanical keyboard of game controllers, and perfect for serious console and PC gamers. You’ll just have to pay through the nose for the privilege of owning it. This article was co-authored by wikiHow staff writer, Darlene Antonelli, MA. Plug the micro-USB connector into your controller. Your Razer came with a cord, but if you lost it, you can easily find USB cables with a micro-USB connector at any retail and electronics store. Of course, you can play on PC also with a Switch Pro or Playstation controller, but often you will have to use workarounds, install third-party software, or manually configure each button. Steam is the main exception because there you can select the controller you wish to use, but nowadays our game library is spread out among several platforms. The Wolverine Ultimate is Razer’s stab at creating a pro-level Xbox One-style controller for eSports and hardcore competitive gamers. The Razer Wolverine Ultimate has only one audience in mind: the really hardcore, couch-based gamers. It’s not ideal if you’re sitting further than 10 feet away from your monitor or TV or necessary for those who enjoy single-player campaigns more than they enjoy the thrills of online competition. The ABXY buttons alone are worth the expense - Razer calls them “tactile switches”. They are sort of mechanical buttons that provide an amazing tactile feeling. The face buttons have a reduced actuation distance of 0.65mm, which is 35% less than that of the average membrane controller. This results in an actuation time of approximately10ms. My only minor issue with the Wolverine is that I found things can easily become confusing when using any more than four to five profiles. This is because the custom RGB lighting Razer bangs on about applies only to a front strip. Unlike gaming keyboards, you can’t map it to specific keys. Seize the unfair advantage with both hands with the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro—a high-performance wireless controller officially licensed by PlayStation™. Armed with Razer™ HyperSpeed Wireless and a loadout of next-gen features for top-tier competitive play, the time has come to claim your rule on PS5™ andPC.

The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is a controller focused on competitive play. Vibration (rumble) is not a feature that is typically utilized in competitive settings as it can negatively affect precision when playing games that require more accurate directionalinput. No, the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma does not support wireless connectivity. It can only be connected to devices using a wired USB connection. The result is stunning. We get that a vocal minority of players using a gamepad this exuberantly priced are opposed to using wireless controllers to experience their various heated gaming moments. Although, due to the lower latency wired gamepads bring, most people don’t only play competitive multiplayer games. These can come in handy, particularly in first-person shooters like Halo 5: Guardians where you may need to access commands more swiftly or execute a rapid-fire without the need to suppress your right trigger. As a side note, I heard that the extra two top buttons are the least reliable part of the controller. The controller is only wired, and it uses micro-USB. This isn’t a problem for me, but note that if the cable breaks, finding an official replacement seems a bit difficult. You can use any micro-USB cable, however, be sure to buy a very thin one because Razer made a custom plug-in, so big cables won’t fit. PDP (all the Xbox controller variants) is another suggested budget controller. I have no direct experience with it, but from the info I could get their situation is similar to PowerA.
