About this deal

mach99:I get the distinct impression that some digital signal has been sent out which trashes the 'older generation' of Evoke 3's. Transmitted using radio waves, analogue radio — which includes FM and AM — was the default for broadcasts before digital radio came along. AM was the most widely used radio format in the UK until it was overtaken by FM in the mid ‘80s. The vast majority of analogue radio stations are broadcast on FM and while some of these are simulcast in AM, very few are AM-only. The dial is really easy to operate with your thumb if you’re holding the radio in one hand and sits alongside a small selection of polished metal buttons, which are all pretty intuitive to use.

As you can imagine, pricing is one of the most important factors of any purchasing decision. We can find the perfect product for our needs, that fits the brief in every single way. But if it doesn’t fit our budgets, we simply can’t (or at least shouldn’t) buy it. As other members have stated it appears that it is unable to be fixed by Pure's reapairer RadioFix. We couldn’t quite figure out how to dim the display on the H3 though, which might be problematic for your bedroom. Pure Evoke H3 review: PerformanceDAB Radio is a great system that automatically finds any stations available in your area and will let you select them by name, without having to search through frequencies. Browsing these stations has been made incredibly easy thanks to the 2.4" full colour display, there is also a large scroll wheel on the top of the radio for anything from selecting radio stations, to moving through menus. Evoke H3 includes a headphone output for private listening and an auxiliary input for connecting to any device. These failures are rare and can be caused by electrical spikes or some other harsh interruption of the radio's normal process, and if it happens the radio is programmed to default to it's 'USB loader' screen where it can await recovery. Some days later, I disconnected the internal flexi for several hours and some other connectors and power

Interesting these issues with the Evoke 3. I have an Evoke 2 which I haven't used in a while. I must find out if it still works. Evoke say that my old set is not compatible with DAB+ if it is ever launched and that nothing can be done about it. I get the impression that my radio will just become a silent ornament if this does ever happen but that hasn't been made clear to me. Connect headphones for private listening or plug your music player in and play your music through the H3.Additionally, the Pure Evoke H3 is compatible with DAB, DAB+, and FM radio formats, giving you a wide variety of stations to choose from. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to stream music directly from your smartphone or tablet. Large items (delivered by two people, such as appliances and furniture) can be returned using our Home Collection service.

It also does not follow that DAB itself would be 'switched off' immediately (should DAB+ ever be introduced here). They would probably run in parallel for quite some time. Volume can be boosted without too much distortion though with only a simple mono speaker on board, the audio is a bit weak compared to more highly priced units. A decent basic option if you’re after a durable little DAB that can be moved around at will. The Uno is a pint-sized version of the original Revival radio. And just like its older sibling, it sports Roberts’ distinctively adorable 1950s styling. It’s 35 per cent smaller than the original but has a similar gold speaker grille and cursive ‘Roberts’ logo on the front. When it comes to finding the perfect DAB radio, there are a few brands that always seem to stand out. Market leaders like Roberts Radio, Ruark, and the ever-popular Pure appeal to those of us who want the perfect blend of audio quality and aesthetic appeal in our investments. The R1 doesn’t come cheap but it offers sensational sound for a radio of this size, or indeed any size.Although you won’t be able to turn the sound up loud enough to disturb your neighbours with the Evoke H3, you can rest assured that even if you turn the device up to the max, you won’t experience much by way of distortion. Pure Evoke H3 review: Verdict

There are now more than 50 stations broadcasting nationally on DAB, along with many regional and local stations. You can listen to them without interference and – as long as you can get a signal – you’ll get flawless, clear digital sound.

As an aside, in response to the earlier comment. My unit was I believe at the latest version, it simply re installed it
