Once you’ve successfully paired your Oral-B rechargeable toothbrush with the Oral-B app, your toothbrush will be recognized by the Oral-B App whenever your brush is used, and your Oral-B app is running nearby. All in all, it’s a surprise that with the launch of the iO10, Oral-B added yet another timer to the mix – in the form of a light display on its charger. Possibly intentional is the fact that the iO Series now has its own range of brush heads that fit only iO handles. It did not take any getting used to when I started using this brush, which has not always been the case with other electric brushes I've tried. There's no dizzying feeling from the vibration; it just felt normal.

The brush heads got bigger and so did the price tag As the iO8 is powered on, the timer is activated. Thereafter at 30 second intervals, the motor will momentarily pause. The sound and brushing sensation subsequently change. It’s at this point you want to move the brush head from one zone of the mouth to another. This repeats 3 times. When 3 pauses of the motor occur, you’ve achieved 2 minutes.

The long established range of small round brush heads Oral-B have become known for are not compatible. Hardwired into it is a 2 pin UK power adapter (suitable for UK bathrooms). The cord is about 1.2 metres in length. The stand supports 100-240 volts, unlike the 220-240 volts of the standard charger. This is better for you if you travel internationally regularly.If you are not bothered about Bluetooth connectivity and such premium features, the Pro 3 3500 is a much more affordable option. It has the key features we recommend for an electric toothbrush. Apart from that, the app allows you to adjust brush settings, set brushing goals, go on “dental care journeys” (perhaps to improve your gum health), see past brushing performance, collect badges and get reminders to replace your brush head. Artifical Intelligence recognizes your brushing style and guides you to cover all your teeth, so you never miss a spot. iO specific heads are very similar. This sensor goes further though, because it will show you when you are applying insufficient force as well as the correct amount.
