Yes, I have made several lots of scones since my roast potatoes post, not sure if they are drool worthy or not. Next, I knew I needed to try making muffins in this awesome contraption. Freshly baked muffins make a camping morning even better. Therefore, I whipped up a batch of muffin batter to test it out. I happened to have silicone muffin tins, which worked perfectly in the Omnia Oven. For bread I tend to ‘bake for two’ so most of the time I only use 200 to 250g of flour, I also convert most bread stuff into long or round rolls although I have often made ‘rings’ of bread. I bake most bread at 2 minutes high then 18 mins medium to low but you will have to work out what is best for you/your hob

This insert will help with keeping the oven clean of burning and tarnishing and it will also keep your cake intact when you take it out of the tin. Perfect for campers, RVers, and #vanlife, the Omnia Oven is a portable stovetop oven that allows you to bake using a standard camp stove burner. You are right though, these things (generically) are actually cheaper and faster to use than the oven at home. I also tried cheese scones, below left, recipe needs tweeking and rice flour scones below right, awful.

When I heard about the Omnia oven and how it is being claimed as one of the best van life or campervan ovens, I was curious, but when I heard you can make roast potatoes and even cake on a stove I was totally sold and had to get one.. like yesterday! Sophie has always made the best cakes and baking is definitely her forte. When she offered to use up our brown bananas and make her amazing banana cake I couldn’t resist. I was ready to get baking and knew exactly what I needed to start with. My evil camping nemesis…burnt biscuits forced to be made on the grill or over the fire. No matter how hard we tried, we just never could get it right. If the Omnia Oven could right this biscuit injustice, I would be a forever fan.

They are slightly more done on one side than the other, my fault don't think I had it on there straight. Had them with experimental beetroot & red kidney bean veggie burgers with carrots, celery & broccoli. Every once in a while a product comes along that not only amazes, but also truly delivers. The Omnia Oven allows you to bake anything you would in a traditional oven, right on your stovetop. This comes in handy anywhere you may not have access to an oven but have a stovetop burner, such as in RVs and boats. However, Omnia have offered to sponsor us and we have very proudly accepted. Lid (aluminum*): The domed lid sits on top of the body and traps the hot air that rises up from the burner through the central air column. The reality is having a campfire or burning charcoal is often impractical. Particularly when dispersed camping, during inclimate weather, or when cooking inside a RV, van, or a boat. Through vent holes around the tin, the heat and moisture can escape thus not allowing the food to get soggy. Making nachos in the Omnia could not be easier. Layer in chips, cheese, salsa, beans, olives, jalapenos, cilantro, and whatever else you like. Make sure you have cheese layered throughout. The Omnia muffin ring is similar to the silicone mold but shaped perfectly to get the perfect muffin shape.
