About this deal

Tripods & Heads Tripods Monopods, Minipods & clamps Tripod Heads & Accessories More Camera Accessories Instant Pictures Lighting Printers Sundries No provision to touch-and-drag on the screen to control autofocus when using the electronic viewfinder Both cameras have electronic viewfinders, but the EVF on the Z6 – which is the more expensive of the two shooters – is both higher in resolution and size. Both the Nikon Z50 and the Z6 use the same Z lens mount. That means that all of the existing Z mount lenses available for the Z6 and the Z7 can be used with the Z50. As the sensor is smaller, you’ll need to take into account the crop factor – so the 35mm f/1.8 S series lens would offer an equivalent focal length of around 52mm. Your right, you’re not a lens engineer... but if we just take the kit lenses as an example, Nikon has already produced kit lenses that are far, far better than the competition.

it is obviously about how old the idea is because one can not be excited about the idea after 5 years (hence nobody really cares if nikon can adopt the lenses on their mount). Canon did have adopters on M mount for long but their cameras are hardly exciting. The official CIPA rating for the new EN-EL25 Z50 battery has yet to be announced, but it’s bound to be less than the Z6. That said, with a lower resolution sensor, plus a lower resolution screen and viewfinder, overall power consumption is likely to be lower.I know Nikon has smaller, non S-designation 28 and 40 mm lenses coming on their most recent roadmap, but that's all I know. No aperture, no date, and certainly no price.

I really want the new Z macros too. Especially the 105 - my 60/2.8G is quite good (I'm sure the Z version will be even better) but I don't have an autofocus longer macro right now. I have the 85 PC-E but that's a studio lens. I'd get the Tamron 90 but it hasn't been updated to work with the Zs yet. I had a Nikkor 105/2.8G but it had too much LoCA for me and wasn't very sharp. A detailed list of camera specifications is available at NikonUSA.com. NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR @ 110mm, ISO 100, 1/1250, f/8.0 Like previous low-end and mid-range Nikon models, the built-in flash can't act as a commander for the company's infra-red-based 'Creative Lighting System' flash control protocol, so you'll need to add a higher-end flash to gain full access to that. To compose your images, you’ve got the choice of a 0.39-inch, 2360k-dot electronic viewfinder (which is smaller and lower in resolution than the one on the Z6/Z7), or a 3.2-inch tilting TFT LCD, which is touch-sensitive. Unlike the Z6/Z7, you have the benefit of tilting this to face forward from the bottom hinge, making it useful for selfies – but less so for attaching the camera to a tripod.Auto ISO can be used in manual exposure mode and combined with exposure compensation, so you can specify the aperture and shutter speed value you wish to use, and the target brightness you want the camera to maintain. On a more positive note, the buttons that are present don’t feel too cramped, despite being housed in a smaller form factor. The grip is also nicely pronounced, making it comfortable to use for long periods of time. Some of the missing buttons’ functions have been replaced with ‘virtual’ touchscreen options, such as the magnify option and the display button.
