Libre Computers would do this themselves for you as a commercial service though it sounds like. I doubt it would be that expensive relatively speaking because Libre Computers is not a big company and I doubt they get many requests for it. If you are working on behalf of a company that needs something like this I bet they would make it work for you for cheap. A common question I’ve seen on Reddit & Facebook groups is “Can Le Potato run Raspbian?” and I have good news. In addition to having the latest Ubuntu 22.10 on mainline kernel 6.x, Libre Computer offers/support builds for Raspberry Pi OS/Raspbian, Lakka, CoreELEC, and LibreELEC. There are also builds from Armbian if you’re used to their builds and Debian directly from Libre will be coming soon™. The first one about GPIO and device tree overlays means that if you are making extensive use of the GPIO pins or overlays you will need to use their wiring tool to translate the instructions to ones that will work with Libre boards. The first accessory I looked at in this Le Potato review was their bespoke heatsink. It covers both the Amlogic chip and RAM modules to keep temperatures under control and keep them under control it does.It’s absolutely theoretically possible to do this manually. Look at the source code for the script for Libre’s tool here: I’ll eventually get around to doing a full comparison between this Le Potato vs Raspberry Pi 4 but for now, you’ll have to make do with a summary. The only thing I’d say about there being fewer support resources is that people said the same thing about the Pi when I wrote some of those very resources they take for granted now on the Pi years ago. It was considered a toy and a joke and people didn’t take it seriously (and got left behind like usual in technology because the technology will move forward whether people accept it or not). For some reason, now I can control pin35, but cannot control pin33 anymore ( refer to my previous post). Why could this be? Schematics and 2D silkscreen are available for all hardware. You may even have an old, dead Raspberry Pi that you can take the operating system from!
