About this deal

Bagheera is a sleek panther who feels it's his duty to help the man-cub depart with dignity when it's time for him to leave his jungle home. "Bagheera is Mowgli’s adoptive parent," says Ben Kingsley, who lends his voice to Bagheera. "His role in Mowgli’s life is to educate, to protect and to guide. My Bagheera was military–he’s probably a colonel. He is instantly recognizable by the way he talks, how he acts and what his ethical code is.” of

Kids will love the five set-top games on offer, which cleverly incorporate original animation from the film. For educational value there's a live-action trek through the Indian wilderness in Junglepedia and the Disney Conservation Fund give us a glimpse into their work. In one of life's little ironies, Bruce Reitherman has gone on to become a filmmaker documenting the natural world and invites us on a few of his recent expeditions in Mowgli's Return To The Wild. Source The Jungle Book is a 1967 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released to theaters on October 18, 1967. The 19th animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon, the film is noted for being along with The Aristocats ( 1970) the last film project to be approved by Walt Disney himself, who died during its production. (However, Walt did work on a few projects before his death as well, most notably the majority of Disney's animated films that came out in the 1970s.) This is also the first animated feature released after Walt Disney's death. The film was inspired by the stories about the feral child Mowgli from the book of the same name by Rudyard Kipling. In the book, Kaa is one of Mowgli's close friends who rescues Mowgli from the Bandar Log, and tells him of the golden ankus, and helps fight the red dogs. In the film, he is a minor antagonist who wants to eat Mowgli. Following Cinderella, The Jungle Book is the second Disney film to have the most live-action adaptations made by Walt Disney Pictures with three current live-action films. The Jungle Book Groove Party: " The Jungle's No Place for a Boy" • " Join the Ranks" • " Go Bananas in the Coconut Tree" • " A Mood for Food" • " We Are the Vultures" • " Run" • " A Brand New Day" Walt Disney did away with Rudyard Kipling's original text for his classic 1967 version of The Jungle Book. Still, this light-hearted musical toon about a mop-topped boy raised in the jungle by wolves is loved the world over for its memorable ditties and spectacular animation. Sadly, it turned out to be Disney's swansong; he succumbed to lung cancer a few months before the release.

Elements of The Jungle Book were recycled in the later Disney feature film Robin Hood due to that film's limited budget, such as Baloo being inspiration for Little John (who not only was a bear, but also voiced by Phil Harris). Many characters from the film appear in anthropomorphic form in the 1990- 1991 animated series TaleSpin. Between 1996 and 1998, the TV series Jungle Cubs told the stories of Baloo, Hathi, Bagheera, Louie, Kaa, and Shere Khan when they were children. The Disney's Greatest Hits collection includes the song " I Wan'na Be Like You" on the blue disc and " The Bare Necessities" on the green disc. The next morning, Mowgli tries to join the Indian elephant patrol led by Colonel Hathi ( J. Pat O'Malley). Bagheera finds Mowgli and they argue; Mowgli runs away from Bagheera. The boy soon meets up with the fun-loving bear Baloo ( Phil Harris), who shows Mowgli the fun of having a care-free life and promises not to take him to the man village (as Baloo believes that the villagers there will "ruin" the boy and "make a man out of him"). Season Two: " The Ape Who Would Be King" • " Trunks for the Memories/ Kasaba Ball" • " Hathi's Makeover/ Curse of the Magnificent Melon" • " The Five Bananas/ Birthday Snake" • " Old Green Teeth/ The Elephant Who Couldn't Say No" • " Hair Ball/ A Tale of Two Tails" • " Waiting for Baloo/ Tree for Two" • " Nice Tiger/ Sleepless in the Jungle" Now for the first time ever on Blu-ray™ with glorious digital high definition, Disney’s Jumpin' Jungle Classic has never looked so lush or sounded so good! Beloved characters, swinging music and new behind-the-scenes bonus features make this Diamond Edition Blu-ray™ a must-have for every family's classic collection! The Jungle Book also marks the last animated film from the company to have Disney's personal touches, before his death on December 15, 1966.
