About this deal

Other channels like Dave and Sky News come and go all the time. One week I have them, the next week I don't. So a better internal format utility and some built in maintenance routines would go a long way towards getting maximum value out of HDDs Dammit i was afraid of this. Not been able to find out how to get this to work so was thinking this was the problem. I will probably go for the AV drive you recommend as the smallest available WD Red is 1Tb and he will never use all that space.

So would I expect my drive, when formatted by my laptop and then reinstalled, to be formatted again in the Humax? (I realise that the formatting done is different when done in the PVR). For flat TV owners there's also an HDMI output, able to deliver 576p and 720p video, but, perhaps curiously, not 1080i/1080p. OK, my Humax is still hopping and skipping so I thought I'd try a full format. I'm thinking of this adapter, is it OK?I will concede that my solution is destructive of data but would argue that a PVR is inherently more about time-shift than it is about long term storage of masses of media. There are other methods significantly more appropriate for this task - including netflix! and iTunes An idea maybe is that since you can replay them is to get a HDMI splitter (example only) and connect the PVR to a TV and a PC via the splitter and then use a video capture card in the PC to copy and save the videos to maybe an external HDD connected to the PC.

OK, I obviously don't understand the theory behind this. If I do a full format using my laptop, then the Humax does it's own, won't that undo any good work the full format has done? Or will it just produce an overlay and the full formats work of ring-fencing bad areas is left in place? If you've got a Marcus easy-access savings account or cash ISA, you can easily boost your interest rate to 4.75% – here's how. The 9300T uses a proprietary disk format, it is not the same as ext3 (or etc3 as you seemed to have renamed it). The boot sector will not be recognised by Windows because the Humax processor is big endian and all data written to the disk is in this format. this proprietary format takes the HDD out of any real use for anything outside the PVR until it is reformatted to ext3 or other non proprietary format.........

MoneySavingExpert.com is part of the MoneySuperMarket Group, but is entirely editorially independent. Its stance of putting consumers first is protected and enshrined in the legally-binding MSE Editorial Code. You program the remote with a code to operate your Tv and this differs according to the make of your Tv...there should be a code list somewhere in the user manual and instructions for how to set it up, obviously you'll need the code for Samsung. Tesco Mobile is to start charging new and recently joining pay-monthly customers to use their mobiles in Europe from 2024. There are three varieties of what people call the skipping problem. Doing a "Humax" format will help with one of them. So would I expect my drive, when formatted by my laptop and then reinstalled, to be formatted again in the Humax?

I have a 9300t 320Gb and wanted to upgrade the drive; I'm having to constantly manage capacity and it's getting 'glitchy'. The plan was to put the new disk in, format it and if all was well, transfer the files from the old disk. Unfortunately I hit a snag; here's what happened:I can't express how disappointed I am though that basic support material isn't readily available via humax support, words fail me at times. The usual PVR functions are fitted too, such as live pause, instant replay, watch while recording and even record two channels while watching a third off the hard-disk. Two tuners, of course means you can record two programmes at the same time, whilst watching another, or if using the aerial loop-through, you can still use the tuner in your TV. A word on warning on the loop through - if you turn on the "power saving in standby" feature, it will not pass the signal through very well, meaning some channels drop out. Apart from a change of colour, the remote isn’t radically different to the PVR-9200T’s zapper, which is a very good thing – the basic button layout gives it a rare simplicity, and it helpfully hides the lesser-used keys under a sliding flap at the bottom.

And since then it's skipped during a much more recent recording, it was an episode in the latest series of 'bakeoff' I'd had on series record. It was unwatchable. I'm reasonably computer savvy, just wanting to preempt any problems before I hit them, so any advice is welcome. If you're a regular Superdrug shopper, you can now earn more freebies and discounts under its Health & Beautycard loyalty scheme, as the retailer has launched new 'VIP Rewards' as part of it. However, there are restrictions – if you’re recording two channels on different multiplexes, then you can only watch a third channel if it’s on the same multiplex as one of the channels being recorded. But if you’re recording two channels on the same multiplex, then you can watch a third channel from any multiplex. It sounds complicated, but trust us, it’s a very useful feature. The Humax PVR9300T features a twin Freeview tuner, enabling you to watch one Freeview channel, whilst recording another onto its built-in hard disk or even record two different channels simultaneously, whilst watching a previous recording!Somewhat on the outer fringes in mid Cheshire. I don't appear to have had a problem since my post of yesterday.
