About this deal

As you’d expect, the Signe Floor lamp works with all of the Hue scenes, either in the app or the ones that you create. And it will also work with dynamic scenes, too.

There is plenty to love about the Philips Hue Signe. From the get-go, it is super simple to use and set up. It comes ready to plug in and use and will turn on as soon as you fire the plug into the outlet. There’s no hassle and no messing around, which is excellent, as the smart home can often be a minefield of confusing setups and connections. Philips Hue Surimu: Trying out the small ceiling light A rather unexciting thing 18. August 2023 - 12:41 Fabian 2 Comments on Philips Hue Surimu: Trying out the small ceiling light A rather unexciting thing auf Deutsch lesenThe next thing I was blown away by was the size; the floor lamp is really quite tall for a premium strip of LED, 57.4 inches. Otherwise, it has a tiny footprint of less than 4.5- inches, which guarantees it will fit in all but the tiniest of spaces. Indeed, it has a vastly smaller footprint than a conventional floor lamp, especially one with a tripod. The app is where the Philips Hue Gradient Signe comes to life – and it's via the app that you can set up the lamp to your requirements. The Hue Signe has never been really affordable. The previous model already cost 269 euros and now Philips Hue is going one better: 299 euros are due for the large floor lamp. We certainly don't need to discuss the fact that this is a lot of money. It should also be clear that the Signe is not to everyone's taste. However, I find that the gradient technology offers a much more exciting experience. As the Signe Floor Lamp has three individually controllable zones, each scene automatically applies to them. To be fair, the app does a good job of choosing the right colours and blending them together. My review unit was the Philips Hue Signe table lamp in oak. During the testing period I set routines, explored the beautiful Hue scene gallery, and controlled the intensity of the light. My main quibble was that you can only control the lamp using the app, or by switching it off at the mains; there's no on / off on the unit itself. Read on to discover how I got on elsewhere. What can we conclude now? The Hue Gradient Signe with its unusual design does not meet all tastes, and it is anything but cheap to buy. Compared to its predecessor, however, it offers much, much more. For me, there is no question that the Philips Hue Gradient Signe is fascinating. Only the thing with the power cable really bothers me. In the standard case, the Philips Hue Gradient Signe is aligned to a wall and there the colours also appear washed out, so the transitions are not so hard. Nevertheless, I would recommend not selecting colours that are too far apart. A real rainbow effect like with the long lightstrips cannot be created with the short Signe.

Colour reproduction across the range is excellent. Some cheaper lights struggle with some colours, but not the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp. From red to yellow, and green to blue, this lamp is bright across the range. During my time with the Philips Hue Gradient Signe table lamp, I've looked forward to entering my bedroom of an evening to see the light not only already switched on (without me having to do anything), but also the gentle colors filling my side of the room. The brightness, colors and the on/off schedule is all controlled via the Hue app (more on this shortly). What’s the difference between the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp and the regular Signe lamps? For example, I have only a small collection of the best smart lights, and the Philips Hue Signe table lamp is the latest addition. The table lamp is a fairly new product innovation from the brand, and is available as a floor lamp, too.

So at night time the Gradient Signe really pops. Imagine a lightsaber being lit up in a dark cave. And that's great for adding mood to rooms in the twilight hours or, excitedly for anyone who also invests in a Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, incredible extra synchronized mood lighting for movies, TV shows, or playing video games. Creation Consumer Finance Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Register no. 311518). The Signe’s colors are electric. Again powered by a color wheel, you can choose between one, two, and three colors across the LED strip, making for a limitless combination of choices. This can be done manually, or you can choose from the innumerable scenes in the Hue scene gallery, which are perfect for inspiration if you’re unsure what kind of lights look best. There’s everything from blossom and crocus to sunsets, Miami party vibes, Chinatown red, incredible Arctic Aurora, and more. Even holiday and Halloween scenes get updated throughout the year, and each scene has its own custom level of optimum brightness that you can adjust. You can also tweak the colors yourself for optimum personalization. And, in the smart lighting market, there is one brand that sits atop the rest – Philips Hue. As we note in our Philips Hue review, it is the "most comprehensive smart light range out there, covering bulbs, lamps, and strip lighting to suit almost every need". Before I get to the colour gradients, I would like to briefly go over the technical data. The Signe has an overall height of 146 centimetres, 20 centimetres of which are accounted for by the stand. This makes the Gradient Signe 3 centimetres smaller than the old Signe. No really relevant difference, which also applies to the weight: the new model is about 100 grams lighter. It turns out that Hue products can be connected to Bluetooth OR the Bridge; they can’t be controlled via both simultaneously. So, if you've already connected Alexa to Hue Bluetooth, disable the Philips Hue Alexa skill in the Alexa app, and then reconnect it to the Hue Bridge via the Hue app voice assistant section. If you have a minimalist home with plenty of corners and walls that can benefit from colored, gradiated uplighting, then forget about it – this product is for you. I then created a Zone containing all my regular office lights and the Signe Floor Lamp and used my Hue Tap Dial Switch to control all of the lights and scenes. And Hue Entertainment also benefits from the new Gradient technology, because even in interaction with the Hue Sync Box or the Hue Sync Desktop App, the new version of the floor lamp displays not just one, but several colours. The placement is done as usual via the room view of the desired entertainment area. This is how bright the Philips Hue Gradient Signe can shine Overall, then, I feel the Philips Hue Gradient Signe Floor Lamp offers a lot to potential buyers, and it is one of the most versatile smart lighting products that I've tested.

Philips Hue Secure Camera: The first review There is still a lot to do 24. October 2023 - 13:30 Fabian 1 Comment on Philips Hue Secure Camera: The first review There is still a lot to do auf Deutsch lesenFocussing exclusively on tall, smart floor lamps, there aren’t many competing devices to choose from when it comes to the Hue Signe Floor lamp. The most notable rival is the Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp. This is also an LED floor lamp that comes with RGB options and a design very similar to the Signe. Govee has emulated many of Philips’ Hue products at notably lower prices. I use Govee’s lamp, TV strip, and lighting bars, and I like them all. Indeed, they’re not the same quality in terms of build and materials, but they do at least offer much of the same functionality, including a decent app to control multiple lights. Large items (delivered by two people, such as appliances and furniture) can be returned using our Home Collection service. When I first tried to connect the Signe to Alexa, my device wasn't able to detect the lamp. I was sitting next to the light with my phone in Bluetooth range.
