About this deal

The 'figures' you see for HomePlug are often misleading and can be hugely affected by local wiring. I am looking at sending the HDMI output from a splitter I have over the power lines to another 2, maybe 3 screens. They are built by a reputable chinese factory, but who'll sell to anyone. So these are everywhere right now. Whilst the product has quality around the central chip, it's the central chip you need to worry about. Important Installation Note: The power outlets of the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) must be one the same circuit breaker panel. HDMI over IP - these Extenders convert the HDMI signal to allow it to run over CAT5 cable within an IT network (very new and more costly).

One thing I am doing which is a bit naughty but it does seem to be working fine is I am passing SkyQ (btw it is only Sky I am distributing) into a Denon 602Ci video processor and then one of the outputs (sadly only 2) is plugged into a 2 way splitter which is fed into my dining room TV and the other leg is what I was going to send over the power lines with the other output from the Denon box plugged into my lounge TV. I have tested this by connecting 3 screens to all the available outputs and that works fine, I was expecting HDCP issues, but all is good, so I think it is just a case now getting the HDMI over the power lines to the two bedrooms I want Sky in.The Lindy HDMI over Powerline Receiver is one part of a high-quality solution for extending HDMI content from a source device to a display using a single electrical power circuit. Combined with the compatible transmitter unit, this extender provides simple, hassle-free content distribution within small office, store front or residential setups. The HDMI-TX2 system is not specifically designed for video surveillance systems. It is a general use HDMI over power cable solution for any HDMI source up to 1080p resolution. Here is an installation diagram that shows how it can be used with a Blu-ray or DVR player.

Setting up a PC? Our dedicated USB and firewire and networking ranges are home to everything you require. In addition, our audio and video department features top-quality supplies for your home cinema system. I use these for my HDMI over Ethernet paired with a Cat6 cable for short distances, anything over 50-90ft you want powered extenders. Transmit a 1080p HDMI source through your existing home power lines. It will allow you to watch the content of your Pay TV, DVD player or any other HDMI device in 2 separate rooms without using wireless transmission or long cables. Ideal for locations with concrete walls or complex structures where RF transmission isn't suitable, the signal is sent over the building's existing power wires. Simply connect the mains connection transmitter to your HDMI device, and the receiver to a HDMI compatible TV in another room up to 300 metres away. It also allows an infrared remote control signal to be sent from the 2nd room to your HDMI device. To operate, the transmitter and receiver need to be on the same power circuit and be plugged directly into the power point. Common confusion, the current power line solutions are build for Ethernet networks, the Cat5 HDMI solutions just happen to use Cat5 cable but they are not compatible with Ethernet so you can't combine them. HDJuiceBox just compresses the “decoded contents”(no matter what the contents from the BD disc players or STB receivers) to itsoriginal compression level.

And then using a powerline adapter to plug the ethernet cable into from the HDMI sender. Then plugging the other powerline adapter next to the second TV and then having the ethernet cable to the receiver then the HDMI cable into the second TV. I live in an old solid wall house myself , and went through an awful lot of homeplugs looking for good performance. I didnt mention the compression as the compression on the HdJuiceBox is H.264 so the same as Digital TV and BD Content is generally already compressed to H.264. HDMI over CATx - these Extenders use one or two runs of CAT5e or CAT6 cable to carry an HDMI signal. (mostly very reliable).
