About this deal

The TPA3255 chips are efficient and can produce a significant amount of power for their size.. You can increase the power output of these chips by upgrading upto 48V power adapter. However, because on the heat issue, I wouldn't do it unless you modify the enclosure with active cooling. I also think you Kenwood is probably on its way out :(. If you are experiencing enough frequency drop off you need to EQ it something internally is certainly dying and most likely has other issues going on that make a pretty bad reference point to compare other amps. Reply I conducted a comparison between the Onkyo RZ50 in pure output mode (RCA) and the BT30D Pro (RCA), both using RP5000F towers and an amp selector switch. I was unable to hear any difference between them, which is good news. It appears that the well-implemented TPA3255 chip sounds the same in all cases. A tiny stereo amplifier designed to be connected to unpowered speakers seems an odd thing, as you aren’t often called upon to produce an amp while you are out and about, except perhaps a headphone amp which the Fosi Audio TB10D TPA3255 is not. Then again, there is an attractiveness to having a portable 600W amp, or one that takes up a minuscule amount of space on a shelf. Considering the variety of products Fosi Audio sells there must be something to this. As expected, due to the lower damping factor compared to the A7, there's a little more variation in the frequency response when presented with a reactive load like the Sony speakers. Still very minor fluctuations until above 2kHz where the output impedance starts to rise. Like the AOSHIDA, it looks like this amp aims to be flat measured into 4Ω.

Fosi Audio BT20A Pro - Opinions and Comparisons Fosi Audio BT20A Pro - Opinions and Comparisons

Fosi Audio TB10D vs Soundavo NSA-250 (79 USD vs 200 USD) – Soundavo NSA-250 has a DAc inside, which make the setup much less complicated, and it also uses the same speaker connectors as Fosi Audio TB10D, so you’ll have a similar experience physically, except that NSA-250 has streaming abilities, is a more complex device, but also priced higher. The overall sound is about equal, with the dynamics and impact of the TB10D being more impressive, and the EQ more effective, and easier to use. The soundstage is fairly good on both, but both have a high THD that will be audible at very high volumes. Peak (!) wattage, as already mentioned, is just above 300 Watts at the stated minimum impedance. The optional available 48 / 5A power supply is not even the maximum allowed by Texas Instruments, but You have to look elsewhere to get it with those maxed out specs. Fosi probably buys the power supply in numbers probably from someone else (OEM) and reuses it for several other models. I founded Audio Appraisal a few years ago and continue to regularly update it with fresh content. An avid vinyl collector and coffee addict, I can often be found at a workbench tinkering with a faulty electronic device, tweaking a turntable to extract the last bit of detail from those tiny grooves in the plastic stuff, or relaxing in front of the hi-fi with a good album. A musician, occasional producer and sound engineer, other hobbies include software programming, web development, long walks and occasional DIY. Sound is open, sweet and it reproduces subtle details flawlessly. I've tried this tiny amp with both floor standing dual concentric speakers and with very small bookshelf monitors. It drove each type of speaker easily and both speaker pairs are of medium (not high) sensitivity. If there's a weak spot, it may be in the amp's ability to reproduce a wide sound stage which was good but nothing outstanding.Overall it seams the A07 has the more flat and un-colored studio sound vs the TDA7498e has a bit of warmth/coloring with slightly less detail and slightly trailed off treble. The TDA7498e sounds more similar to older class A/B amps I have heard so some my prefer this.

Aluminium alloy enclosure with cooling vents on top and bottom. The Amp chip’s heatsink is attached to the enclosure making the whole case a heatsink Fosi configured the TB10D as a 2 channel design internally bridging it down to two channels and using an appropriate filter. They included a 32V 5A power supply and given the 90% efficiency rating of the amp we should expect no more than about 80W per channel (32V x 5A * 90%= 160W /2 channels). Tht is the rated power but i only think it's total both channels if so it seems a little low using a 24v 4.5 power supply,we all know it might not play 2x300 watt with a 48v 10a power supply unless it's 10% + it's not usefull since you don't wanna listen to somthing with 10% thd and for how long can it do that, 1 song ? (4-5 min max). The Fosi TB10D is a standard Class-D 2ch stereo amplifier, it has a single pair of RCA inputs and R/L speaker outputs, on the front there is a volume control and the on/off switch. There are also Bass and Treble tone controls on the front of the amp, there is no remote control with the TB10D, the volume has to be manually changed. The knobs all have quite a bit of weight to them, so they offer some resistance to turning and this allows for more precise adjustments. Specs & FeaturesThe Fosi Audio TB10D is a two-channel class-D power amp. It’s the class D that makes this perform so well despite its very small size. First, looking at the front of each unit, both will give you the ability to adjust the treble and bass via tone controls. Hi, I intend to use a Fosi V3 as an amp for my kitchen set up. There will be 4 speakers (each : nominal impedance 8 ohms, minimal : 6.9 ohms). I am no expert at all and am not sure how to set this up ! (i think 2 speakers in parallel per speaker output on the amp ?) I also wouldn’t want to push the amp to deliver its maximum power (at the onset of clipping) for a long time. In most domestic settings though, where an amp like this is likely to be used, you won’t need anywhere near that amount of power unless your speakers are unusually inefficient. It’s safe to assume that this amp will produce more than enough output for its intended use, and I certainly found this to be the case. I ran the amp with a pair of Tannoy precision 6.2 floorstanding loudspeakers. They are 89dB efficient (measured at the industry standard 1W / 1M) and are a relatively easy load, though do benefit from plenty of current to really get them going.

The status LED is blue and is clearly visibile, without being overly bright. In other words, you can see it very well even on a bright day, but it won’t blind you at night. If there was anything that the TB10D could use, it’s possibly another optical input format. But the RCA was more than suitable for my use, and the initial testing I did was just using an Alexa Mini to play into the Fosi Audio directly. Accessory wise you get a power supply and that’s it, to be honest there isn’t anything else that’s needed to get this little amp up and running.Despite the exaggerated power claims, the Fosi Audio TB10D seems overkill for a desktop amp, and just a bit under-powered for a larger room for those that want the required dynamics for realism. The extra power is appreciated although not fully utilized in a desktop scenario unless you have really in-efficient speakers <86db sensitivity. First, the TB10D is a class D amplifier, made in China, that is reportedly rated at a whopping 300 watts per channel for a total rating of 600 watts.
