About this deal

Have you ever thought about the reason for the automatic doors at the grocery store? Or the fact that sidewalks have a ramp at the corners instead of a curve? Kennedy more or less fell into the law and the training for the Bar could only have been less hospitable to her if she hadn't been white. At the Inns of Court, she describes an overwhelmingly male and overtly misogynistic environment steeped in bizarre ritual. The percentage of women in the profession was small and confined to the lower ranks, with hardly any women ascending to the bench (becoming judges). The statistics were even more dire for people of colour whether female or male.

Finding a knowledgeable and inclusive medical professional and resources to learn more can be challenging. WPATH has some great resources including a provider directory. See more here https://bit.ly/3NhJJ79So if you've been considering a breast reduction - here are a few things to keep in mind as you look for the right provider and solution for your needs. Police, lawyers and judges still have difficulties in abandoning their stereotype of the abused woman as someone who is submissive and cowed. When the woman appears competent or has a bit of gumption or if she seems to be materially well-off, there is a failure of the imagination as to how she could be victimised. Lawyers still say of a battered woman 'She is a middle-class woman. It is not as though she could not afford alternative accommodation.'"

These small, seemingly obvious designs actually are a part of universal design -- which helps make the world we live in more accessible and navigable for those with and without disabilities. Similar questions have gotten many a precocious child into trouble over the years in Sunday School classes: I read this book in the summer before I applied to university because I was hoping to find something that was different to the books that give you a general introduction to law. This was definitely different. Now that I have started studying the subject, I still find myself reflecting on some of the propositions she puts forward. In particular, she often talks about how most judges are completely out of touch with the general population, which can definitely impact their judgement. Particularly when I read old cases, I certainly see what she means! saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened. We've talked to death about hormones as they relate to periods and menopause and other health issues. As we know, too much or too little of any specific hormones can have big impacts on our health and it's why treatments like HRT need to be closely supervised by a doctor. The Tasting Menu is a group of three to four topics each week to learn more about your body and health to get you to know your body better such as learning how to strengthen your pelvic floor, symptoms you might not realize are from menopause, women and heart health.

So, I’m excited to share my journey with all of you as I learn more about my own body - and yours - to help us get a better idea of what women’s health is for each of us. The inspiration comes from a t-shirt my mother had during my childhood. My first teacher. The first person to look out for my health and wellbeing. The woman who taught me to stand up for myself. The mother who fiercely, relentlessly demanded better treatment for me when I will ill in my 20s. The warrior who fought Alzheimer’s in her final years and showed us all grace and courage in the face of that battle. Remember also that the non-canonical, Gnostic text The Testimony of Truth criticized God as a “malicious envier” for punishing Adam and Eve for eating from the tree of knowledge — which is basically criticizing God (as depicted in the story) for playing the role of every controlling authority figure who has unsuccessfully tried to repress adolescent rebellion in countless teenage film, dramas, and books. Medical term of the week is a word or phrase we learned recently to expand our vocabulary and knowledge Founders Halle Tecco and Julia Cheek of Everly Health shared thought leadership on how to define women’s health. They were told women’s health is “niche”. Hmmm, “niche” for 50% of the world’s population. We love their take on this topic and will be further exploring our own definition. We want to hear from you too. There’ll be an opportunity in the coming weeks for this community to help us define it.The biblical creation myth at the beginning of the book of Genesis tells us that in the middle of the primordial Garden of Eden, God planted “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (2:9). And God commanded Adam, the archetypal first man, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die” (2:16-17). We are told as well that God made woman, and “the man and his wife were both naked, and were not ashamed.” (2:25).

According to a study published in the American Family Physician, women are “50 to 75 percent more likely than men to experience an adverse drug reaction”. One would think facts like that would impact different dosages or instructions for medication. Except that, as Daniela Schardinger so eloquently described in her opinion piece in Geektime, women’s health is under-researched and underfunded. That’s a topic we’ll be going big on in future weeks. The text looks at the experience of women in the British justice system, each chapter covering a specific topic including: the experience of female lawyers, rape and domestic violence, the impact of race on the experience of female defendants, and the law of manslaughter and how it’s applied to the different genders. Ancient, alienating tradition continues into the courtroom, with wigs, robes and pompous jargon designed to make the defendant feel uncomfortable. Common symptoms of a vitamin overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, dizziness, and even organ damage in severe casesNext comes the part about God investigating this disobedience, Adam’s cowardly scapegoating of Eve, and God meting out various curses to punish Adam, Eve, and the serpent. But here’s another important part: as God prepares to banish Adam and Eve from the Garden, God says to the other members of the divine court (such as the angels), “ The man has now become like one of us…” (3:22). Thanks for joining us for the invite-only launch. We look forward to evolving based on what we learn and what we hear from you. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in law. It will give you an understanding of how law interacts with wider society and how rules will impact different groups in different ways. It will give you a sense of the context in which law is applied, which, as a law student, I find incredibly valuable. And on that subject, what she is trying to tell you is perfectly argued. This novel might be slightly out of date in its citing of laws passed ten years ago, especially when legal precedent is constantly changing, but generally, what was true then is still true now (unfortunately). While it doesn't take into account recent improvements in legal training and police handling of many legal cases, it pretty much sums up the poor treatment women experience in the British Justice system in a succinct and entertaining way.
