About this deal

In 2012, I saw my first rigid heddle loom at a trade show and had to have one. I dove right into the deep end buying a 20” with a stand while I was there and all the rigid heddle books I could find. Needless to say, my yarn stash was already a bit ridiculous so when I found out I could use the same yarns I was ready to go. My loom arrived a couple weeks later and it’s been a love affair ever since. I now own 4 rigid heddle looms, all of which are usually warped with some experiment or another.“ or killed in any shape or form. Users that break this rule are IP banned for a first offense without

For knitters and crocheters who are less familiar with weaving, what makes this method so appealing? Can I use my stash yarn? I’m excited for this book as it would help me understand the technique better with the help of your videos also. I am fairly new to weaving though I have been a knitter for most of my life. At the moment I am mostly doing plain weave, but anxious to try more advanced techniques. I am also a watercolor artist, so I really fascinated by color and the way different colors interact with each other. This book looks like a great way to learn more, advance my skills, and play with lots of color! Plus, if Kelly is recommending it, it MUST be good! I have my first ever Rigid heddle loom (or any loom for that matter) coming in the mail! EEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!! And have absolutely zero experience. But that hasn’t stopped my in the past, I am known for diving off the deep end! When I learned crochet it wasn’t long before I started trying my hand at lace and my second knitting project was a basic sweater….. My crafty friends like to remind me I’m nuts hahahahaha! This technique looks like it’s in-keeping with my usual personality quirk but I also won’t end up drowning!!!!

Crazyshot is not the first book you’ve published, but it is your first weaving book. What was the inspiration behind the book? In all honesty, your Branoe class blew me away. I kept thinking about Fair Isle and Mosaic knitting and other charted needlework while I was learning. I looked for more info on Branoe and found very little but I did discover a rich history of supplemental weft weaving from all different cultures throughout time. So I started experimenting and this book is the result of combining lots of different ideas from various charted needlework. Many times my books have come out of wanting to see the book I wish was already out there.“ Rigid heddle weavers looking to go beyond plain weave have a wonderful new resource with CrazyShot!, a new book by Myra Wood. Try this overshot weaving technique with just-beyond-beginner weaving skills. I want to expand my understanding of all that the rigid heddle can do and continue in this art form for the art form and the place of meditation it affords me.

With so many projects to learn, I think overshot was one that stood out the most to me. I have only just begun. I felt so much gratification at having the opportunity to weave overshot on a floor loom, that I would certainly wish to know how and to develop overshot skills on the rigid heddle loom. Myra Wood is a well known fibre artist with an impressive array of artistic skills and talents. In fact, I’m quite amazed by all her achievements in teaching, writing books and creating. She is a huge inspiration! personal information (doxxing) is off-limits and will be handled accordingly. Report any and all instances
